Remember the iPod Touch? This kinda gives off those vibes. This is inexpensive but able to browse Spotify without any issues and even does a passable job at video if needed. It's essentially a super lightweight android phone sans cellular.I was personally really impressed by the value. It works and while it's slow compared to a modern phone, I've paid more for a cellphone case than this.

This kid's MP3 player is a cool idea, but in execution, I think it is far too limited for the current decade. Although clearly built on an Android operating system, this device comes with a selection of pre-loaded apps and that's it. No play store, no access to the right directories to install sideloaded apps from the web browser, nothing. On one hand it is very secure for a kid. They can't download other stuff, and you can delete apps the kid won't be using. On the other hand, I feel the inflexibility of this device's operating system restricts this to a first smart device status for young kids. A kid who has already been given a mainstream tablet or a parent's old cleared phone is already used to more digital freedom than this has. At least is has a web browser!

I have a few WiFi-MP3 players that are very much like this, and they're working great. Over the last few years, I have used at least a dozen similar devices, and they all worked but had a lot of limitations compared to these players. This is not the smallest, but it has a lot more to offer, and that includes battery life. I'm getting about 36 hours of service from one charge, which is very good. Since the display goes dark after a couple of minutes, it saves a lot of battery life.✓ Unlike a lot of device sellers that seem to be nothing more than here today and gone tomorrow companies, Timmkoo has an up-to-date website that offers some information but no firmware updates for its various devices. As I write this review, there are no Android updates either. For us, the main use of players like this is to stream music to a Blue Tooth speaker in my wife's home office. We used to have a WiFi-connected speaker that allowed us to use our phones to run Spotify and Prime Music, and even after we were out of the house, the player would maintain the connection and keep the music going. Unfortunately, after five years, it gave out. Because they are steaming players, this worked out well as it has both Blue Tooth and WiFi connectivity, which allows them to connect to the streaming service and then play the music via Blue Tooth over a BT speaker or headset. I found that these are quick to pair with various Blue Tooth headsets or when using wired headsets via the aux audio connection. When reconnecting, it re-establishes the WiFi and Blue Tooth connections within a couple of seconds after powering up.► Unfortunately, Unlike a lot of similar music players, this cannot be connected to both 2.4 & 5GHz WiFi networks. It only sees 2.4G connections.► Connecting to our WiFi service was no different than with an Android phone, and the connection has been stable.● Physically, it is a little heavier than other options, but it has a battery that offers a lot more playing time, and this means more weight.Using this device is simple. Like the others, this uses a trimmed-down version of Android. If you have an Android phone, much of the UI will be familiar to you. Certain streaming services come pre-installed. I won't bother to go over them as it's easy to see the various apps that it comes with from the seller's pictures. While it may be Android-based, adding apps is not a simple task. Anyone who knows how to handle APK files can add a few things, but because of the limited CPU power and storage, these can't be loaded with a lot of apps. With the internal memory and when plugging in a TF (mini SD) card, music files can be added by connecting the player to a PC and then using a USB cable to connect. It's the same setup as moving files between a PC and an Android phone. In addition to streaming, it is an excellent mobile audio player. Again, I won't go over the various formats it's capable of playing, as the seller has these all listed as well.► Right out of the box, it powers up and is useable as a player with wired headsets.► In the box is an audio jack-connected headset that sounds pretty good! It comes with three different size gel options.► The included 64GB (generic) TF card allows for more files, music and video to be added, which is perfect when going on a road trip. Added to the internal 80GB, this means a fair bit of storage plus larger capacity TF cards up to 1TB can be used. I've set up one of the previous players with a 256GB card.► We have it paired to the car's Blue Tooth capable stereo so we can play the music we want via the system.► Like most new devices, this uses a USB-C charging connection, and a short cable is included, but there is no power brick.► The UI is easy to navigate, and the display is large enough that the buttons are big enough to use without any fuss.► The four-inch IPS screen is small, but any video I've played on it is nice and clear.► Its built-in speaker is just slightly quieter than the one on my S21 phone, but it is quite usable. If someone were to ask me what I would suggest for streaming or even just Blue Tooth audio/video player, this would be in the top ten.

The TIMMKOO MP3 player is fully featured and ideal for children, seniors, and runners. The screen is full colour, bright, vibrant, and easy to use. The 85mm (diagonal) touchscreen is very responsive. This little MP3 player is full-featured and easy to use. It’s ideal for children, as a parent can lock out apps and control what is on the player. Spotify Kids is a safe place for children, and the TIMMKOO has Spotify and Spotify Kids preinstalled. Both work fine. I loaded Spotify Premium and could play music, podcasts and audiobooks. Amazon Music Unlimited is also preinstalled, and while I could not get audiobooks to work in Amazon Music Unlimited, music and podcasts were played. (I have difficulty playing Amazon-based audiobooks on my other MP3 players.) Audible is also preinstalled and plays content well. The controls are simple and menu-driven. MP3 files can be loaded on the included 64g SD card and accessed via the built-in music player. It is the free version, which, while not as full-featured as the paid version, works fine for organizing and playing MP3 files. The SD card was quite slow, so I replaced it with a quicker 1T card, improving performance. I use a Mac, so I needed a file exchange program to load music on the card. While the page on Amazon notes the maximum card size is 1T, the included manual says it can run a 2T card. I didn’t have a 2T card to test, and frankly, can’t see ever needing 2T of mp3s in my pocket! :-)An extensive manual is included, and the typeface is large enough for my old Boomer eyes to read.A screen protector is preinstalled. Simply remove the protective cover, and the screen protector will be bubble-free and aligned correctly. If you are used to the speed of a newer iPhone, you will find the TIMMKOO slow loading, but once in operation, the apps play flawlessly. There is a slight lag when changing songs, or apps-you will notice this if you are used to playing music on your phone. The TIMMKOO is very light, weighing only 105g. It’s the perfect music player for runners. It’s small enough to fit in a pocket and is smaller than a Clif Bar. The 1800mAh battery will play music for 35 hours, enough to get you through a 100-mile trail race.My Bluetooth headphones paired instantly, and the connection was stable. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack and a pair of headphones is included. The fit can be customized with different-sized foam ear tips.I could not find what DAC chip this player is running. The sound is full and enjoyable. Soundstage and mid-ranges are acceptable for a budget exercise DAP. Would I hook this into my stereo? No, but that is not what this DAP is intended for. It’s perfect for casual on-the-go listening or sweating through a lung-busting trail run.
