Installation Instruction
Step-1 Gently shake the toner cartridge from side to side to distribute the toner. Then remove the protective cover.
Step-2 Insert the toner cartridge into the drum unit until it locks into place.
Step-3 Gently slide the green tab of the drum unit from side to side several times to clean up the corona wire.
Step-4 Install the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly into the printer.

Using with a Brother HL-2230I have purchased these toner cartridges for YEARS with no problem. Suddenly, with my last purchase, the cartridge was smaller than it used to be. They changed the design, and it does not fit tight enough. This causes the gears to not connect enough to the drum, causing the drum to malfunction and fault as it draws in the paper. Now, i need to try to reset my printer several times every time I print before it works.it especially SUCKS because i always buy in advance so I have them on hand. I Purchased a double pack in July, now it is December and I just opened the new pack. So, i'm stuck with them. Wish i could return. waste of money. why did you need to screw with a perfectly good product!? to save a few pennies on plastic?! SOOOO disappointed. will not buy again.

I’ve bought this product twice in the past and it has never disappointed me. I don’t use the printer frequently to print but when I do print, there are a lot of pages. These cartridges have lasted me a long time. They come safely packaged and were so cheap for the amount given. I highly recommend getting these instead of brand named ones.

Not only are these products generally spot on....but the customer service at V4INK is as well. After years of ordering through them I recently had trouble with an order. One of the cartridges just didn't work. It's January. I got them in September. But I'm not a high volume user so didn't need anything from the order until a week ago when I put in the defective cartridge. Emailed them and presto-changeo the new cartridge was here within 2 days (hmmm...I have Prime...wonder if that had anything to do with the speed). In any case, very very satisfied.

Author's note: After going through 6 of these toner carts I needed to do some duplexing. I'm sorry to report that the duplexing does not work very well at all - these cartridges leave toner smudges and lines all over the pages when duplexing. I tested this with two different carts and different printers thinking that it was just a one-time issue, however, both have the same problem.. If you're only printing single sided these cartridges will work great, but if you plan on printing 2-sided I suggest to look elsewhere. Rating has been downgraded to 3.5/5 now.Original review:-------Rating: 4.5/5What I Like:-Smooth and consistent print output-Solid and deep black output-Good resolution for images-Easy installation-1/10th the cost of a single OEM toner-Lasts about the same as an OEM tonerWhat I Don't Like:-Occasional toner smudges at beginning of cartridge-Duplexing *DOES NOT WORK WELL AT ALL*Conclusion: At work we use a couple Brother laser printers internally for non-important documents, mainly copies of customer invoices and printing e-mails for hard copy backups. This means that we're going through a toner cartridge every week, and the OEM carts are insanely expensive (more than we spent on the printers). I made the suggestion that we should try some 3rd party / remanufactured toners in order to save a few hundred dollars a month so we gave these a shot. The idea was that even if only 1/3 carts worked we'd still be in the green compared to OEM prices. The cartridges arrived in a big box, wrapped in thick bubble plastic. From my experience with the first two toners, text output is generally crisp and in blind tests most of my colleagues I showed couldn't tell the difference between the original toner and the V4ink. I did notice a little bit of smudging and 'haloing' (slight toner splatter) around letters at the beginning of the cartridge but that seemed to resolve itself after about 50 prints. We've had no issue printing barcodes, b+w pictures or QR codes and overall the toners last about the same as an OEM did. In my opinion, for home users or those who work at a business that print a large number of documents, these toner cartridges could save an insane amount of money. I will continue to update this review if there are any issues with the 3rd cartridge.Authors note: These cartridges were tested with an OEM Brother printer drum. It was necessary to reset the toner print count to proceed. Open the front cover and do the following: 1) Turn the printer off with the power switch. 2) Hold Go/Start and switch the printer on until all lights illuminate. 3) Release Go/Start. 4) Press Go/Start 2 times. Wait 10 seconds. Press Go/Start 5 times. The toner light should be off and the paper light should be on. I can't believe I've been paying a fortune for brand name toner cartridges all of these years. I purchased a recycled cartridge years ago and it was such a disappointment, I never thought an offbrand would be as good, even if it wasn't recycled. After reading the reviews here, I decided to take a chance and I am clicking my heels, I'm so happy. The quality seems to be every bit as good and I've already printed hundreds of pages. I'm THRILLED. The discovery of the year!

"Fantastic Value!!! 3pk TN 450 Tracking provided within 24hrs and arrival was under 6 days. Product was well packaged. I only opened and installed one cartridge wanting to leave the other 2 sealed. Cartridge was new not recycled. My printer did recognize it as a new cartridge. Printed a few test pages and by the 4th page image was clean and sharp with no smudging. (had to clean up residue from old cartridge) Local Box stores wanted $80 + $82 for 1 actual Brother cartridge. Local Ma & Pop wanted $50 for 1 new equivalent. Installation was easy considering I had not installed a cartridge in my printer for quite some time. Only thing that slowed my installation down was the box that the new toner cartridges arrived in showed instructions to pull out sealing tape. Upon close inspection the units shipped do not have sealing tape. This is the procedure I used to install new cartridge.1 - Open front panel of printer.2 - Remove Drum unit.3 - Remove old toner cartridge from drum unit.4 - Shake new toner cartridge 8-10 time and remove orange cover and install in drum unit.5 - Slide green thingy on drum unit back and forth twice. (follow picture on drum unit)6 - Reinstall drum unit.7 - Close printers front door.8 - Print a few test pages to get rid of residue from old cartridge.I highly recommend this product and supplier!Cheers

Previously I had left a negative review regarding toner leakage. To my surprise, the new owner reached out to me to see if I would be willing to try the cartridge again, so I did.So far I have not had a single problem with toner leakage and all seems to be working well. They are even willing to send the remaining cartridges to complete the original order.I couldn't be more happy with this new owner and their product and look forward to working with them in the future when I need more toner.
