There is nothing wrong with the chin rest itself. But the hardware is cheaply made and did not fit the chinrest properly so it could not be used as is.

This chinrest is a little roughly made, and the holes for the brackets are a bit loose — but it is comfortable if you like a fairly flat plate that's not too large. Nobody can see it under my beard anyway.
