Bought this lead rope in May for my pony. I also bought a Weaver nylon halter. I tried taking the lead rope off to put it on a new halter and found that it was rusted shut. My husband had to use a hammer to get it off. Their Weaver website said that it is non-rust solid brass which is untrue!

What the product listing doesnt tell you is that there is no metal bracket to close the loop...it's just loosely sewn together. I would return it but don't want to go through the hassle. I bought this lead because of the Weaver brand so I'm disappointed in the quality of this item. I have put a zip tie around the base so I'm hoping it won't fall apart immediately

I specifically wanted a cotton lead rope. I don’t like poly ropes. This one seems pretty well made for a good price. Love the color options too!
