The operation only requires very limited electric input, hence its high efficiency and heat conversion rate can reach a score of COP 4.5. In other words, for every cent of electricity spent, 4.5times heat is generated!

This heater has worked well so far have had it about a month and has had no problem keeping the pool at the temp. We set. And the hydro consumption is well with in what we expected.

The unit works very well at heating up my 10' x 30" above ground pool (approx 1000 gallons of water). The fittings also take the 1.25" Intex pipes which is a huge plus as I don't need adapters. With a night time low of 15 C and daytime high of the low 20s this unit took almost 48 hours to get to the desired temp of 90 F (32 C) but it did manage to get there (pool was covered at night and uncovered if the sun was on it). When the weather is consistently above 25 C the unit heats the water quickly and reaches the setpoint within a few hours. I've had the water get as high as 95F (35C) on a few occasions and it really makes swimming more comfortable.I had to remove one star because the manual does an extremely poor job of explaining the settings on the control panel. The unit is supposed to be rated for outdoor use according to the manual but the blower cover is already showing some signs of rust after only one rainfall. I have had some condensation on the unit when the temperature drops at night but no freezing yet.By default the temperature setpoint on the unit is 95, to change that you have to adjust the setpoint so the numbers flash and then when it displays the temperature you want you press the M/S button once. Now it will use that new value as the default even if power is cut.I still cannot figure out how to change from F to C on the display but that's something small I can live with.I highly recommend getting a 1.25" x 1.25" extension and some extra 1.25" pipe as the unit needs to be placed far enough away from the pool and other fixtures/walls/fences/etc. The extra length of pipe helps position this where I need it to be. I'll look at insulating the longer run to reduce losses next year.
