I had no idea I could buy this item on line. It's exactly what I was lookin g for on my shop project. I needed a thin rubber gasket strip with adhesive and here it is. The adhesive sticks great and the tape is easy to trim to the exact size/shape/length.

For some uses I'm sure this rubber is fine. However, do note a few things:1. It smells like a new tire. This isn't so bad, just be aware it's pretty strong you will notice it.2. It looks terrible. The surface of the rubber is all mottled and discolored.3. It leaves behind a residue on anything that touches it. You can clean it, it won't matter.Having said that, it sticks well and is pretty durable. If you need this tape for something no one will ever see I think it may be fine. Note it's a very hard rubber without a lot of give to it so it won't be good for filling gaps. i think the best use is for two surfaces that either vibrate together or hit each other and a solid rubber damper would help reduce the noise.

I used the thinnest version of this between the panels on my air conditioner to dampen vibrations and reduce sound. It worked great. The rubber is nice and soft.
