This was a fairly easy project to assemble. The walls and roof are nailed and glued, but all the trim is just glued on with regular white glue. I strongly recommend using clamps while the glue dries. The supplied paint is probably not enough to complete the project. I ended up using all of the supplied white paint and then some other white paint that I had. The blue was paint from another project also. I used all of the brown mixed with white for the roof, I painted the bottom with all of the supplied green to show that it takes several coats for good coverage. The wood is soft and raw, so if you want to put it outdoors, plan to use some of your own paint. I have put together many similar projects. One of the ones I liked best was 1/4 of the price and made from a durable composite. I liked putting this together, but fear for its longevity in the elements.

It was fun putting this bird house together. A great way to pass time. Instructions were clear, I do wish the pieces were labeled to match instructions. You can paint and decorate it any way you like with the supplied paint.

I recently picked up the Wooden Bird House for my outdoor garden, and it comes as a complete build that provides everything you need, including paint, to make an appealing nesting box. It's exciting to have a project that allows me to personalize the birdhouse, and I believe it will be a delightful addition to my garden once spring arrives. One of the things I really appreciate about this bird house kit is how user-friendly it is. The included paint allows for creativity, so I can decorate the house to match the aesthetic of my garden. This makes it not just a functional item for small wild birds but also a fun craft project. The instructions that come with the kit are clear and easy to follow, which is great for someone like me who doesn’t have extensive building experience. However, since we are at the end of winter and unable to install it right now, I’m a bit concerned about how well the paint will hold up against the weather once it’s exposed to the elements. Also, while the kit includes all necessary components, I found the wooden pieces to be a bit rough in some areas, which may require some sanding for a smoother finish. The Wooden Bird House kit is a fantastic option for anyone looking to attract birds to their garden while also enjoying a bit of DIY creativity. Despite some concerns regarding the finish and weather resistance, I’m looking forward to putting it together and watching the small birds make it their home once the weather warms up. It's a rewarding project that combines beauty and functionality in my outdoor space.

The wooden boards are sturdier than I was expecting, they're 8mm in thickness. The metal hinge on the door is also really nice and not flimsy. I think it's a great quality kit and the instructions are straightforward. The glue and the paints were all still liquid and usable. Some other kits I've tried must have been so old cuz everything was dried up, but that's not an issue here.

This was a good value for an indoor project for my 8 yr old grand son. However, the only bird it may attract would be a wren, since the opening is very small as is the bird house. Fun project though, and cute results visibly. Will have to wait to see if a bird thinks so.

This is a real bird house versus some other kits that are just for display. It is made out of real wood, and if sealed and mounted properly, it should last for many years.* This birdhouse is a kit you have to assemble. The instructions were mostly helpful for assembly. One issue I had was that the wood did not have predrilled holes. This caused the wood to split when hammering in the nails. To fix this problem, I used a small drill bit to pre-drill the holes halfway. You should have a small drill bit on hand before starting this project.* The roof panels were two different sizes. So I made the extra hang off the back so it is less obvious.* I had a few pieces of extra wood left over that I was unsure what to do with, so I added some of them as decorations on the side of the house.* This house has a cute side door that you can latch shut. This is helpful for cleaning out old nests at the end of fall, to prepare the house for the next year's birds.
