This toy is a total bust. It is cheaply made and flimsy, except for the moving parts, which are difficult for even an adult to manipulate. Without instructions, we had to push and pull every piece to figure out how it worked. Beyond that, the top was too heavy for the holder, which wouldn’t even grip the top to launch it. This is just a junk knock-off.

My grandson and his friends love to play with battling tops similar to the ones made famous by BeyBlades. The tops whirl around a plastic arena knocking each with the last top spinning being the winner. As much as he enjoys this activity, my grandson often gets quite frustrated. Being fairly heavy weight, these blades break, pieces get lost, and launchers cease to function.I ordered this as a replacement for one of his favourite tops which has sadly reached the end of its life. He was very pleased!. His new machine arrived in a colourful gift box which he quickly opened. To their credit, the manufacturer ships the top fully assembled and ready to play with, something both I and my grandson appreciate. A launcher is included in the package with its two parts simply snapping together. The spinning top, or ripper, is comparable to the others in my grandson’s collection; it is brightly coloured, spins well, and wins its share of battles. The unit’s most notable feature is the “converter” on the launcher which allows you to control the direction of the ripper’s spin. A small sheet of stickers which you can use to adorn your top is included in the package.I was really disappointed to find that the toy came with no instructions whatsoever. Given that this is a relatively small manufacturer, Amazon’s product page was our only source of information on the device’s operation and assembly. While my grandson likes the ability to control the top’s spin, I am a bit worried that this added feature has a negative effect on the quality of the launcher which feels rather “loose and wobbly”. In our experience, these toys are subject a lot of abuse; I hope this one can handle it.This is a decent top that looks good, spins well, and arrives ready to battle. While the ripper itself seems solidly built, I am not so confident about the launcher. I do know that our grandson, who is very pleased with the device, will certainly put it to the test.

I was able to try out both the B-180 and the B-198-01 models of this toy. The rippers are pretty cool because you can swap from clockwise and counter-clockwise spinning with the switch on the ripper, but the string that rotates the ripper gets tangled very easily and doesn't rip as hard as you'd like. The beys themselves are okay, nothing spectacular or noteworthy from them. They're just as good as any of the many other beys you can buy on Amazon. However, for a $17 bey, we'd expect a little more pizzazz of some sort, and this falls short of that. It's not a bad toy, it's just not as exciting as we'd hope it'd be.
