I needed and extra "Series 99" handle when one of mine went missing. I have been using series 99 tools for literally over 40 years and they have lasted since my first purchase - nothing has needed to ever be replaced except a lost 2nd handle. Quality is as good as when I first bought my original set.

My father's old kit (over 30 years at least) was fine except for the beat up handle after years of abuse. New one was a Christmas gift and holds all the blades just like a new set!

This handle fit my existing xcelite set perfectly. Id lost the handle and looked for ages to find a replacement. This was the one.

Second time purchasing this item. The first one was an original made in the USA xcelite version. I thought I'd get a second one to keep at home but this version was made in China.Still xcelite product but stamped Wellar instead of USA. The package stated made in China.The retaining mechanism on the newer one is extremely tight. Have to really use force to get the screwdriver blades in and out. Hopefully it will loosen up with time. The mechanism is different than the USA made handle. Otherwise it looks the same.

It kind of takes the joy out of owning Xcelite tools when they don't reek of Butyl Rubber for the first month or two of use. Still, it was well made and a great replacement for its predecessor that failed after a mere 40 years of hard use by me (and probably another 20 by my father before me. Xcelite makes the best screwdrivers!
