About this item

  • The CFX Premium Grand Piano Voice recreates the power and tone of the flagship CFX concert grand piano from Yamaha.
  • GHS weighted action is heavier in the low keys and lighter in the high keys, just like an acoustic piano.
  • 3 Piano Style Pedals offer authentic sustain, sostenuto, and soft pedal performance.
  • Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) allows for vivid and richly-varied expression to reflect the limitless number of factors that create the sound of a concert grand piano.
  • Stereophonic Optimizer adjusts the spatial distribution of sound in the listener's headphones, creating the sensation that sound is coming directly from the piano, rather than from the headphones.

Modern living spaces can be cozy but are often not very roomy, so we need to be creative with how we use our space. The Arius YDP-S35 digital piano helps you express that creativity through a stylish, compact design that brings elegance to any room - all the while delivering amazing sound quality. The YDP-S35 features an improved sound engine of the flagship Yamaha CFX concert grand piano, and renowned GHS keyboard action, bringing the most important elements of a piano together - touch and tone - in perfect harmony.

Just received the keyboard today. Setting it up wasn't too challenging and instructions are simple to follow in the manual. I explored its features and played for about 20 mins. As an intermediate player upgrading to this digital piano, it's the best one I've owned so far. Given it's price rage for what you get, I love this digital piano! The feel of the hammered/weighted keys and sound is fantastic for my needs. I love how you can control the volume and how the case can gently close on its own. The sound with headphones is great too! The pedals work well and don't feel flimsy or cheap. I would prefer my Yamaha acoustic piano but in a condo I cannot use it so this will suffice. Its simple, sleek, and beautiful to look at and performs above my expectations. Its a great digital piano to practice scales, to learn playing (at any level), and to compose. It has enough for me to practice, record, teach and be creative. I highly recommend this digital piano. It's minimal yet powerful.

Amazing piano for a beginner, however for some people the assembly can a little challenging. I definitely recommend! :)

I'm a professional pianist and teacher who believes strongly in the advantages of using an acoustic piano. So I didn't purchase this one to play on - I'll use my grand piano for that. But I am also a composer who uses a DAW and digital notation programs, and needed to replace my Roland digital piano after 35 years of use. This Yamaha was a good replacement for it, and I appreciate the slim design that takes up very little space, considering it has a full set of pedals and a cabinet and a full sized keyboard. The action is very decent, and that's a compliment coming from me, because no digital on the face of the earth is ever going to match what can be done on a good acoustic piano. It's like comparing apples and oranges. You can't. But Yamaha did a good job of coming as close as they could. The recording of the tone is also good (sorry, but that's what you're getting with any digital - you are not producing the tone, like you are on an acoustic, you're hearing a recording of an acoustic.) So yes, I highly recommend this digital for those who want or need one. However, for those of you who are shopping for a piano for your kids to begin lessons on, for heavens sake get the real deal and shop for an acoustic -- and Yamaha does make very good acoustic pianos as well. Speaking as a teacher of the instrument at all levels for well over a half century, I can tell you that there is simply no way to develop a good technique on any musical instrument if you have no control over the tone you're producing on it. Which is why teachers like me who teach thru the advanced levels will not even take students who only have a digital. They're going to be too limited by it. And if you want to get one for them anyhow, then get one like this, that has good weighted keys and a decent touch and action. Getting a cheap digital is a huge mistake -- those aren't musical instruments, they're just glorified toys and absolutely worthless for any serious purpose. The tense technique they'll develop will keep your child from ever getting much beyond the intermediate level, and that won't be played well. What you learn on matters.

My son & I easily assembled this piano in about 1 hour. Two people are needed because the large pieces are clumsy, & the assembled piano weighs about 81 pounds. The box & contents weighed over 100 pounds. The main pieces are 5 large wood-type pieces, 2 anti-fall feet, & 14 fasteners. The fasteners were described as "screws" although there were 12 bolts (which screwed into preinserted metal cylinders) & 2 "tapping screws." Assembly goes quickly if you separate & label each fastener group before you begin. You need a Phillips-head screwdriver. The sound & weighted keys are great.
