- When the charger is in Trickle mode, it will monitor the voltage of battery even though the screen is showing OFF, once the voltage drop under 12.5 Volts, the charger will automatically turn back on and charge it to full and maintain the voltage as normal.
- Force 12V mode: If the charger accidentally recognizes the 12V battery as a 6V battery (for example, the power of 12V battery is less than 6 Volts), you can press and hold the Mode button for 5 seconds, and the charger will be forced to switch to the 12V charging mode.

Getting to understand smart charger. They work. Must read directions to learn and understand functions. Not difficult but need to read to get the most service from the charger. Charger measures voltage values and will report a failed battery, but may need to use a more powerful charger to boost voltage before 1.75 volts will get you to read 12 scale. Practice helped and tested on a fully charged battery to gain understanding of operation. Pleased so far.

I used this to charge two 12v (4amp) batteries used in a gas generator (main and a spare). It could not have been simpler, the instructions are excellent. There is an indicator for reversed wiring which saved me from frying things as a patch cord I made (because of reversed SAE connectors on batteries) was wrongly wired (oops). The first battery was very low and when finished it was up 13.25v. The second was only down a bit and came up to 13.05v, probably because it was charged more to begin with. I didn’t keep track of the time (automatic shut-off) but the first probably took about 4 hours and the second maybe two. I still can’t believe how small this unit is compared to older ones that were the size of a shoe box. I’m so impressed with this charger I regret not buying more of them to use as gifts. It’s impressive on so many levels, its compactness, variable functions, comprehensive detail on the screen plus the three different connectors. I highly recommend this charger, you won’t find a better one for the price. Oh yes, buy at least two, these are awesome gifts.

This charger/maintainer works great, but.... I hate how the unit bugs out if there is any play whatsoever in the plug you are using. I have a fairly new cord that this is plugged into but it has just enough play for this to slightly wiggle. This slight play seems to freak the unit out causing it not to charge or maintain my battery. Personally, this issue could be fixed with a grounding side tab(that slips into the grounding socket) to better hold the unit in the plug. Regardless, I still like it for the price.

It does exactly what it promises. Maybe not as fast as it promises but it gets the job done and is compatible with every battery I attached it to so far. It seems pretty durable it has an awesome design easy to use It keeps the battery charged and has a lot of value for the money. Don't settle for a non-durable battery charger that is going to leave you drained in uncharged like my boss does.

Having already owned a trickle charger I bought this one with the intention of having the ability to always charge my car with the quick connect SAE charger I purchased this item using the battery adaptor and then I bought a 50ft SAE extension cord. And now I’m able to charge my battery from the furthest part of my driveway. The smart charger is very convenient due to the fact that it shuts off when the battery charging is full, which makes it convenient for me specially, during winter time because I had just changed my car stereo and it sucks up a lot more battery now.

Bought this to keep the battery in premium condition for the car I have in storage for the winter. So far, seems to work perfectly. The battery had been in storage for about 1 month. The unit, on Trickle setting, brought the battery to full then turned off as the manual indicated. I'll update with an image if I can catch it activating to keep the charge at optimal rate.

This little charger is fantastic! It’s a 1.75A charger that out performs my larger old trickle charger. It’s a smart unit with an easy to read display. (One thing to note: it will specifically NOT work for LiFePO4 batteries. This will NOT do the charging profile required for ONLY those batteries, But it works VERY well for AGM and standard batteries.)I bought it to use the de-sulfate feature on some old UPS batteries, but they were too far gone. However, I’ve used it on my Harley battery as a regular charger and it’s been strong and reliable. It starts out as a regular charger, then shuts off when the battery is full, then automatically goes into trickle mode as it needs to.It’s got a great feature in that it displays what it’s doing. The display toggles back and forth showing the exact volts and amps it’s putting out as well as the graphical display of the battery filling up.It’s a “set up and leave it go” thing that will shut down when the battery doesn’t need it or it will turn back on when it’s needed.Recently my truck battery was too low to turn it over so I connected this charger. I like the voltmeter display. It showed 11.2v before I plugged it into the wall. Once plugged in, this unit displayed exactly what it was doing and had me up and fully charged over night.The next day I did notice that when I moved the cord at the connection, the screen went dark. I surmised that there are broken wires in the SAE plug. I contacted the seller asking for a new SAE plug to solder on, and they wrote back overnight that they are sending me an entire new unit! What great customer service!This is a great little charger that does all that I need backed by a company with great customer service!
