These are rather daunting out of the package. The plastic feels cheap and you have to figure out how to make the arms longer to fit different size books. After trying several different sizes and overcoming the fear of breaking the plastic pieces, we did get a fairly good size book to open flat. But it was a struggle. I'm not sure how long they would last with continual use.

I doubt that these page holders have much value. Aside from the fact that there are not a lot of situations where there are needed, they are fragile plastic and too small for such as music books, as they claim. They adjust for book widths of 5 to 7 inches. They are awkward to manipulate. The first one snapped when I tried to use it.

I was looking for something to hold open books because my arthritis gets so bad sometimes I can't. This is NOT the item for the job. The pictures don't really show what kind of, how thick or heavy, or how wide/long of a book it will hold. The description line says "music book." I used to play piano so I have music books. This item will not open wide enough for any of my music books. I thought maybe sheet music? Nope. Maybe a magazine. I tried it with my fiction novels. Nope. Makes turning the pages a hassle. Not strong enough for recipe books or those "For Dummies" books.Seriously, I can't figure out what book this will work for. Good thing it was cheap cuz it won't be getting used.
