I got these to make jigs and fixtures for woodworking. These are nominally 20mm in diameter and have a 12.3mm deep hole into which a brass threaded insert has been pressed. I cannot tell if it was inserted with heat or just a force fit. The brass insert is only 3mm long. M5 machine screws fit the threads accurately. I have two issues with these knobs. First, the molding of the plastic balls is somewhat crude. All the knobs have a mold seam around the circumference. They all have a molding pip on one end where the polymer was injected into the mold. I have other similar knobs without these defects and I much prefer them. Second, the threaded inserts seem pretty wimpy to me. I would have liked to see greater depth to prevent the inserts from becoming misaligned with repeated use. Other than the cosmetic issues, these nobs work OK for the moment.

I intended to use these to replace the knobs on my older Ryobi drill press. Amazon is very clear about the product size, but I assumed they would work rather than actually measuring. That is my fault. I am stating this so that you don't make the same mistake I did.Regarding the product... these are well made and I know I will be able to use them elsewhere. Actually, I like them enough that I may cut new threads on my drill press handle and use them there as I originally intended. They are good quality and appear to be durable. The size fits nicely in my hand for equipment operation. It appears to be a very good product.
