Awesome sketchbooks for watercolor paper feels lovely and doesn't go out of shape while painting in them. The cover is also lovely and make them easy to have out on a bookshelf once full.

I believe these to be cellulose paper - but not a good quality. You are unable to life paint, the goes on splotchy, unable to create blooms or cauliflowers and the paper "lifts" easily when you try and wipe paint off with a damp brush. This watercolor sketchbook would really frustrate a beginner....save your money and buy elsewhere.

Compré un block Arches y la verdad se nota muy poco la diferencia, los blocks Arteza son de muy buena calidad, papel grueso, funciona perfecto con los pigmentos, queda muy bien aun con muchas muchas capas, muy recomendable

Be careful buying from this company. They tend to raise their price immediately. They started a few years ago at much more affordable prices, now they are ridiculously high. Look for other vendors. About the paper quality in these sketchbooks. Here's what I noticed: once you paint on one side of this paper, the other side stops behaving like watercolor paper, it becomes a sort of regular paper - the flow of paint gets reduced significantly and the paper underneath the transparent paint sometimes gets really strange streaks. This makes me believe that the sizing is done very sloppily on both sides. As a result - only one side is really useful the second side of that same page becomes useless for use with watercolor paints. They need to side it better. Do not pay that much money for these sketchbooks they are NOT worth it.

For traveling I really like the small size sketchbooks this its to big or to small to take with you, great value it can't take a lot of water but just for doodles or small illustrations while travelling I still would recommend this product

The paper is nice and thick with a good texture for all painting mediums. Paper does not warp much when paint is on. Can't say how it holds up to professionals' standards but these are great for beginners like me!

First thing to understand is that smaller notebooks have a vital purpose to busy professionals who still want to play #Inktober to win. With the grey scale markers, water resistant pens, and a smaller notebook, you can move through every day of Inktober prompts, *every day*, successfully. Because you're not trying to finish an 8x10 here! When I bought them, I wanted to set myself up for success. And it was a critical part of my finish. Compactness means it doesn't matter where you and your inking pen are in your house, or outside it. It will travel. It's important to note that, when I bought this, I knew this wasn't marker paper. With 3 books, I had enough stock to practice with pens and markers and get used to the texture and absorption I knew I'd experience. There was next to no marker bleed through (1 page), and I soon was accustomed to using the watercolour paper with pens (fine-tipped Microns) and markers (both Arteza's grey set, and Copics). The learning curve wasn't very high. Finally, when I did win #Inktober (yay!), I put gesso on the cover and full on painted a candle on there. Because the cover is fabric, you can transform your artistic endeavor into personal memorabilia. The texture takes gesso well. When you win, you can commemorate the win with anything from a gouache, to an acrylic, to an oil painting, personalizing it and your achievement. If you want something to hand down through your family? How about your *art book*. So. That's why I recommend it. It's true, I didn't do any watercolours in these little books, but it adapts well. And it worked for me. You're creative! It may work for you too!

Love this sketchbook. It’s not the best paper for watercolouring but it’s ideal for mixed media. I love this size for art journals. Turns it’s a close #2 for my favourite sketchbook.

The paper is very inconsistent and drys faster in spots on the book, I thought that maybe it was one page and kept using the book but have continued to find that the paper was like this through many pages. This book is good for sketching and coloured pencils because of the tooth of the paper. I will choose a different watercolour sketchbook next time.

I have a nasty habit of being too precious with my paper and therefore, never using my sketchbooks. Because of this, I decided to try buying a lower quality book to get in the habit of drawing daily. After reading several very mixed reviews, I opted for these books. The textured side of the paper is meh, but the smooth side is appalling. I have never had paper so bad it ruined my eraser, it's usually the other way around. It cannot handle even one layer of marker - the paper pills under the marker. This paper was SO bad that I don't want to use it as I don't want to ruin the rest of my art supplies. 0/10 recommend.
