Great pencils, I gave it a 4 because they don't have erasers on the end. Boo

If I had to name one of my least favorite pencils of the hundreds I’ve used, Staedtler Norica would be on the list. I’d I had go name one of the most overrated, it would be the Mars Lumograph. This does not mean they are bad pencils. Clearly, the latter has had a cult following for a century!I share the background to inform a potential buyer. If you do not normally like Staedtler, these 2Bs may be the exception. It’s plain to see why they are the ubiquitous school pencil across Western Europe. It’s much like the only other Staedtler I enjoy using, the Tradition. Conversely, if you live the Norica or ML, you may not like this pencil.

My pencils were "Made in Germany". This is a solid, very high-quality school pencil. The Noris comes with a very attractive yellow and black finish that is easy to grip. It conveniently comes pre-sharpened. Point retention is excellent. Expect to be able to write for a long time without re-sharpening. Although labeled on the box and stamped on the pencil as "2B", the graphite seems hard compared to some other brand's artist drawing pencils labeled that way. However, when compared side by side to Staedtler's Mars Lumograph 100 Series 2B, it matches up reasonably well, maybe just a bit lighter. Graphite hardness ratings aside, the black Staedtler Norica (labeled as an HB #2) is a softer student pencil that makes a darker mark and the Norica has an eraser. Staedtler Noris School is a solid no-nonsense pencil that performs well. It is said to be "The Dixon Ticonderoga of Europe". That sounds about right.

False advertising Unbelievable. Not made in germany made in Indonesia. Amazon should force this seller to change description of pencils immediately. And guess what item is not returnable.

The photo on Amazon shows Made in Germany . But the pencils are made in Indonesia. Isn’t this misinformation?Dear Seller/Amazon do not lie. Check the quality of the items before posting them . What you are doing ? Just look at the photo I have enclosed . And I just found out they are not returnable! I guess this is how Jeff Bezos has gotten rich.

La mine des crayons sont cassées a l'intérieur, pas moyen de faire quoi que ce soit avec. Je suis très déçu.

Awesome pencils. The softer led means you need less pressure to write. Great for kids struggling with a firm grip.

I've bought the blue Staedtler pencils many times before, and have always been very happy with the quality and performance. When I saw these pencils, I thought I would be getting Staedtler-quality pencils for a slightly lower price. Not the case at all. Maybe the box I received is the exception, but 4 of the 12 pencils in the box couldn't be used at all because the lead fell out each time the pencil was sharpened. Of the remaining 8, 4 became unusable after about 5 sharpenings, for the same reason. Very disappointing.

I bought these for my self and to share with my granddaughter who is a budding artist. I got the 2B pencils--they make nice dark, smooth lines, but still have just enough hardness that they stay sharp during long sketching and drawing sessions. Although not as nice as some of the more expensive brands, these are VERY nice for the price. Good quality wood, smooth, even leads, and the black and yellow finish is very distinctive, and pleasant to hold.A very good value for a solid "utility pencil", or as a sketch pencil for beginning or casual artists.
