I needed a hard backer plate for areas that I wanted to grind and polish as flat as possible. This is a great backer at a great price. It works very well, and I think it is durable enough to last a long time. It works very well for my purposes.

I got this to use with some 3 inch pads to details my CanAm Spyder trike with. The panels are all pretty small so didn't make sense to use a 5 inch pad on it. 3 inches is just the right size and this backing plate worked great. Held the pads securely and attached securely to my polisher.

converted my bench grinder to use backing pad.it works really well for flat grinding the parts, lot better option than using the stone grinder..
