Keep expectations low. It works but barely. Not meant for any hardy edging. Not powerful enough to get through hardy grass roots thats have grown over edges only grass blades that are grown over edges. Dies quickly on regular dewalt batteries. You need to buy 4-6-8 ah batteries for it to last longer if you have big areas. I wouldn’t have bought but thanks to CA i cant get gas. Reasonable tool for grandma s small yard.

The negative reviews are mostly BS. This thing is great. I have a plug in electric weedeater that’s supposed to be one of the most powerful ones you can get electric wise. It broke so I got this battery kind. This thing beat that!One thing i wish if there was an option to use regular weedeater string that’s easier to come by. For now after cutting a .25 acre yard and the “sticks” it came installed with held up great with out much damage. They give extra sets so this should last awhile.
