"THIS ITEM DOES NOT FIT YOUR VEHICLE." Thats what came up on the screen as I viewed this alternator. After checking my local auto parts stores and failing to find a replacement for my 1992 Mustang LX 5.0 alternator I figured Amazon was my next best hope. One of the local shops even ordered the alternator from their supplier just to find that it was missing the battery connector and the mount was rotated in the wrong direction. Upon further inspection I found the pulley was the wrong size. So, the Amazon part showed up. The battery connector was again missing, you can see in the pictures above that it is there. No big deal as the wires were terminated with crimp connectors and even had shrink wrap provided. The mount orientation was correct as was the pulley size. Bottom line: THIS ITEM FITS my 1992 Mustang LX 5.0 perfectly. And because it is clean and polished (pulley) it looks good enough to show at events.

This is the second junk alternator I got from Amazon for my RV. Both of them have bad bearings. The alternator sounds like a freight train. Not good. Know I had To take this out again for the second time. I put the old nasty looking one back in. At least it’s not noisy. Know I have two new shiny junk alternators I bought from Amazon that are worthless . I’m sure it’s the way you package these. Both of them had damaged busted up boxes and the alternators were hanging out of their packages. I have never had this happen from any one else I buy from. Summit. Rock auto. Parts geek. They all know how to package and ship an automotive part correctly.

Upgraded wiring solution. Great idea good for them. crimp connectors , easy to do with the old wiring. Very happy. Dont worry about some of the other reviews complaining about the re-wire. Easy to cut three wires, put inside the crimp connector , crimp then use the shrink tubing that comes with the alternator and your DONE. Finally someone doing the right thing for the customer. Congrats

Like me, you may receive a hard wired version. This does not just plug in with the factory harness. Instead you will be into an additional wiring job. Not hard, just unwrap to the factory crimp connectors. Cut them out and crimp in at the wires exiting the unit. Use heat shrink tubing (not included) as the best protection from grounding the new exposed metal crimp connectors.
