The product arrived on time, I was wanting to use it tonight. When I looked at the box it looked “used” and as if it had been opened. When I opened it the manual was sat on top, it had been written on, I assume the “previous purchasers” username and password. The manual had obvious signs of use. Then when I went to look at the camera it was obvious it had been used. The bag was ripped open and you could see it had been used. When yours arrives be careful to inspect it, you may be getting a used camera system. I have returned it, and may order a replacement and see if it is new or not.

There is a lot going of this trail cam seemed to work right out of the box. I have only used it once but it did take some great night shots and daytime shots even clearer!. For the money it exceeds expectations!

I've had this for a few weeks now and tested it out pretty thoroughly for use as a driveway security camera in a remote location strapped to a tree. I live in a log cabin within range of the camera and I do all my access via wifi and never take out the sd card or mess physically with the camera since I installed it.PROS- Seems very solid, strongly built, doesn't feel cheap at all- fairly good on batteries, even cheap walmart ones seem to last few a few weeks now in just colder than freezing at night weather- Lots of control over how it works and the picture quality, chances are you will be able to find a combination of settings for pretty much every situation- reliably detects cars and people (and deer and cats) you need to play with the settings to ensure you get license plate numbers of vehicles depending on how fast they are driving (I used multiple photos per trigger which does the trick timing wise)- Night mode is good, got some great pictures of some deer and one guy walking, be sure to move away any close branches as they will be so bright in infrared they blow out the exposure making the more distant things look dimmer than they need to be- few false positives- pretty good range, I can connect from my cabin through the wood log walls to the camera about 40 feet away, download images, delete images, view a live shot etc- clearly records license plates of vehicles (once I turned up the resolution a notch)- Very easy to physically attach to a tree, comes with everything you need (strap)- so far no one has spotted it in a group of trees as it blends in very well- When you are done connecting and messing around with it all you need to do is disconnect for it to go back into regular watching mode which I appreciateCONS- has no polarizing filter so windshields are just shiny reflections you can't see who the driver is, this camera would be improved tremendously for security use with a polarizing filter over the lens so you can clearly identify who is driving in a vehicle as it passes. As it is now, in day time there is no way to identify a driver which takes much of the value away as a security camera. I'm looking into buying a polarizing filter I can somehow put over the lens.- Must have bluetooth turned on with your phone which I would normally always have turned off- Takes *forever* to connect, well takes a few minutes anyway, bluetooth triggers the camera to switch on it's wifi which then takes a really long time to get connected.- Once you enter your password after all that delay it has a completely unnecessary additional dialog box which pops up asking if you want to "start" for no apparent reason, they need to remove this completely, it serves zero purpose but to annoy the user; it's pretty obvious after you went through all that delay to connect that you want to "start" there's no need to ask.- I can't use my windows desktop computer to connect even though it's in range and has bluetooth and wifi as there is no windows app or web app to do this which would be very handy for many people. I'd love to be able to use my computer and see the images straight off the camera on my large monitor instead of squinting at my phone or having to download the images to then view them on my computer.

Update: My update to the original review is that my camera died unexpectedly. GardePro customer service was excellent. The response and resolution were rapid. It is nice to see a company standing behind their products with this kind of after-sales service.Original review:I have used this camera for the past couple of months (late winter/early spring). So far, the unit has worked flawlessly. Setup was a breeze, the menu is simple, and connectivity is easy and reliable. The build quality and design are excellent. I’ve had no problems with the unit in very inclement weather. Design-wise I appreciate the fact that there is only one fastener for opening/closing. So many manufactures design trail cams with two which is just an additional point of failure and another thing to fiddle with unnecessarily. The included strap is robust and longer than you’ll likely need.Battery life is very good running on Eneloop Pro rechargeable batteries. I have gone many weeks without the need to recharge even in freezing temperatures. NiMH rechargeable batteries have worked better for me that Lithium-Ion or alkaline cells in cold temperatures.Unless you are using the video for broadcast on social media, etc. where quality is paramount, what you will get from this unit is surprisingly good for the price. I was surprised how good the images were even on the darkest night.Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.
