Out of the box 2 of the compasses do not work, they are basically stuck in place.The remaining compasses “work” and move around, but all of them point a slightly different direction kind of close to north, but not actually true north.Gets 2 stars only because the housing is nicely made, high visibility and a good size. Really wish they worked properly.

We bought these for our scout troop and they work well (point north and can be used for orienteering) , stand out and are a great size to keep in a daypack!
