The paper is very good quality, but I find that 98lb/160g is not heavy enough for mixed media if you're using any type of wet media. This pad is perfect for drawing and working with pastel and coloured pencil. It's not bad for building up collage, but if you're going to use acrylic or even gouache, you'll need to put a coat of gesso on it. The paper is too light for watercolour, it buckles with watermedia. I use it as a drawing pad, and it's perfect for that.

Good but the pages are hard to flip through because they’re stuck together. So some of them get ripped.

This is my first time using guache and guache paper. However, I have done watercolour and had watercolour pads in the past.The paper is pretty good for my uses. i don't like to use too much water and paint (to save on paint costs lol), so I did not experience issues with too much water. The paper did not wrinkle and stayed flat. it is very white, allowing my paint colours to maintain their brightness. i also like the coil, which allows you to use it like a sketch book and it is easier to remove pages.$20 is a bit expensive and the square is honestly very small, but you get 50 pages which is a lot of paintings.

I recently discovered gouache paint and this book is something I was looking forward to experimenting with. I don't really have anything to compare it to as a beginner, but I am enjoying practicing with my gouache paints and learning how to do different techniques. The coiled binding allows me to work comfortably. The paper is a nice bright white and feels thick enough for me so far.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Wow. I love it.⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Hey, this is pretty great.⭐⭐⭐ = Meh. It's okay but I don't love it. Someone might like it.⭐⭐ = Not great. Best to avoid.⭐ = Nope. This is bad.**All opinions are my own and authentic, and written by me.**

I got this HIMI Gouache Pad recently, and it's been a great addition to my art supplies. The paper is of nice quality, with a fine texture that works wonderfully for various mediums. I’ve used it for light watercolor washes, and it handles the paint beautifully without bleeding. It’s also great for color pencils, markers, and gouache – the colors blend well and the paper doesn’t buckle or warp.One of my favorite features is the fact that the paper is glued down, which means no more curling or annoying warping, even with wet media. It’s especially helpful when working with semi-dry or wet techniques. Plus, the 8.5 x 8.5 inch size is perfect for smaller projects, and I like that the pad has 50 sheets. It’s a good amount of paper for the price, and the micro-perforations make it easy to tear out sheets without damaging the edges.The spiral binding is sturdy and makes it easy to flip through the pages, and the compact size is perfect for on-the-go art sessions. Overall, this pad has been a great tool for experimenting with different media, and I’m really happy with the quality and performance. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves working with gouache or mixed media!

For gouache painting, you want to heavier paper around 300gsm or 140lb to prevent crinkling. The paper pad has paper on the lighter side at 98lb, but the quality is good with a fine texture. This pad is ideal more for mixed media, sketching, coloured pencils, acrylic and gouache. It can also be used for other purposes like scrapbooking and journaling. It makes a great gift for budding artists and enthusiasts alike.

This gouache drawing pad is fantastic for mixed media art. The spiral binding is great for allowing pages to lie flat. The 8.5 x 8.5 inch size is perfect for fitting into a backpack and can be used during travel. The paper is very smooth and there is no texture. I have been using watercolour paper for my gouache paint arts and the texture is very different. I enjoy having a smooth surface to work with and be able to sketch as well as do pastel or charcoal art in the same notebook. The only downside is that this paper is not as thick as watercolour paper so I have had some minor bleeding through this paper while using gauche paint.
