You ought not have asked for this review.Head metal is fine works well....handle on 2 of same broke after 5 uses. I know now not to buy wooden handled tools from anywhere else but NA. Everywhere else the wood is trash.Caveat emptor

The pick is not as good as my previous one (brand forgotten). This one can pull a log from the pile but it can not lift it. The shape of the point is a bit off. When struck into the end grain it would be better if the point was a fatter triangle to prevent it from cutting down and the final point curved up more to hold the hook from slipping out. The other brand could lift an oak log 10" x 18" with the point in the end grain. This one can't.

The handles design doesn’t help your hand to lift up wood that is more than a pound. What I mean by that is that the handle is so slippery, you need to have quite to strong grip to not only lift the wood, but hold on enough for it to not slip out. U would need rubber gloves to make it work

I wish I had bought one of these years ago. I’m 75 years old and I moved a large pile of firewood logs that had been laying on the ground for several years. With this tool there was no bending or carrying of logs, it was very easy to drag them out of the way. Just an amazing tool, I recommend this tool to make it easier to deal with firewood logs.

We have a fishing cabin in Canada and a hunting shack in Northern MInnesota. Both of these often have downed trees and limbs that need to be moved. THis is precisely what he wanted and will help with that job.

I've purchased two of these. One the head was pointy and sticks nearly every swing the other was a bit more blunt and not built the same thus the reason I've dropped a star. Both work however and help a lot moving firewood.
