This antenna looks good and of good build quality. However, it is too short for 2m, resulting in high SWR.

This antenna and magnet mount are very solid, antenna performs great. I'm well pleased from the flexibility, durability, and range. Good SWR. This breaks down easily for transport.

I have this on my truck, and it looks good for both bands on the Nano VNA. Mag Mount has a good grip, and can't see a situation where it would fall off.

Overall the antenna and magnetic base appear to be of a reasonable build quality for the money, but the whip should be a couple of cm longer, so the antenna can be tuned fully into the 2M band.As it is, it tunes down to about 152 MHz, and the SWR rises into the the 2M band to a max of 1.7:1, which is acceptable, but not ideal. To get it that low, I had to raise the whip until only the top set-screw secured the whip; there's two set-screws, one above the other, to secure the whip to the base.It's a shame to not be able to centre the lowest point of the SWR in the 2M band, which could be done if the whip was a tad bit longer.In regards to the 70cm band, like any unloaded antenna the SWR has some big swings as the band is so wide, which is outside of the manufacture's control. The SWR ranges from a low of 1:1 to a high of 2:1 through the band.The base appears painted black, as it arrived with some very small chips/scratches that show a colour similar to chrome underneath. Not a big deal in my opinion, but worth noting for those reading the reviews.The magnet has good holding strength, that should be fine at highway speeds. I'm doing a highway trip tomorrow, and will edit the review it I note any problems at all.

Antenna was too large to fit into the magnetic mount even when the set screw was removed. My bad, there were TWO set screws. It's just fine.

vhf swr is 1.5 (acceptable) uhf swr is 3 (unsatisfactory) it does look clean, and would be ideal if it was actually tuned

I ordered this antenna for a replacement. I read the couple of 1 star reviews and was a little nervous about the review regarding the resonance frequency. I decided to order this antenna. First, yes it's not 2 meters in length, it as actually a 1/4 wave length antenna for 144 Mhz and 1/2 wave for 440 Mhz; this is what you would expect Also, I did my own VNA SWR testing after installation and found it was quite acceptable without tuning. In the previous posted 1 star review, it had an image which was not very detailed (actually too much detail IMO) showing a smith chart and I believe I've seen the same image on other antenna reviews. I've attached images showing my results. The antenna is best set up in the middle of the car's roof. If you place it on the sides, the SWR will increase. If you need a stronger hold, you can remove the rubber base, however I did not find that I needed to do so as I had no issues with holding. The rubber base did not affect the SWR as it can sometimes do with HF mag-mount antennas. Coax is RG-58 solid core. it's standard for most of these types of antennas and there should not be much loss due to the coax length. The connector seems to be build well and did not see any issues with the connector or the base attachment. So, I give this a thumbs up!

Unbelievable SWR at my main repeater frequencies. This thing was tuned right out of the box. That said, it’s mounted on the center of my truck roof and cable run through the cab. This thing is an incredible value and made my handheld functional in the car. When I moved it to my truck bed SWR for GMRS jumped to 1.6. Not bad, but recommend putting it in the center of the roof.

The antenna works great for the 2meter/70 centimetre bands and the magnet works great and has a rubber pad on the bottom to not scratch the car.But. The antenna whistles as you run down the highway.Does not hinder function at all, works great But just keep it in mind.
