The Pofung UV-5RIC Dual Band Two Way Radio runs ONLY on Amateur Radio Bands, Amateur Radio Operator License may required, Please check local laws and regulations.
It CAN'T be programmed to FRS, GMRS or Commercial Frequencies/Channels.
It CAN'T be unlocked to a "full-range" radio by any methods provided on Internet or Youtube.

This is an Industry Canada approved UV-5R ham radio for use in Canada with a Ham radio license.I am studying for my Ham license, got this to listen in. I have it set not to transmit for now.Need to get a better antennae than the one it comes with. Suits my purpose.

Bought this to be nosey. Works well but has lots of static when person isn’t talking. Hard for me to set up a little but with some YouTube it worked

If you have a job that requires you to have a radio only a few times ahead or very rarely, this is the best option. Be carful as you will only get 1-3km or heads up transmission and reviving when calling in. Do not use this if your a full time road radio driver
