I am on a well and my well water isn't the best so I am not using the automatic watering feature myself though I think it would be great for those who canHowever, this holds plenty of water (3 gallons) and I really appreciate that it keeps the water clean as my hens can't kick bedding into it.they prefer cup style drinkers over nipple ones so the chickens are really happy with it too! :)

Cups get too dirty- they don’t make it through a full day- I will switch the 2 cups to the peck and drink

We installed this about two weeks ago. It’s mounted to the wall about 8” off the floor. The float valve works so far. We are happy with the purchase. One issue is the washers for the cups need to be tightened occasionally or they will get loosened and leak. (We have ducks and chickens). The chickens probably wouldn’t knock them around so much. The ducks definitely do.One other issue we are running into is having it attached to the wall AND trying to deep litter method. It’s not easy to just move it a little higher without tools. (It does come with two sets of legs, we prefer it to be attached to the wall so it will not get tipped over and run constantly.I would buy this again, but not for messy ducks. Chickens and quails would be perfect.

I am so happy to have automated my chicken watering thanks to this product. Although one of the cups malfunctioned, the company responded to my email within 24 hours and is replacing the cup. You could not ask for better service. If you hook this to a 55 gallon rain barrel with a valve returning on and turning off, it will illuminate hours and hours of hand watering and hauling hoses, with no risk of them running out of water. Brilliant. Brilliant. The only thing I suggest is a drain tray that would have an exit port to the outside of the coop so that if there happened to be a sticky cup that allowed the water to keep flowing, the coop would not flood but the water would exit the building. They said they like the idea and are sending it to R&D.
