While meditating, it's advised to have your hips higher than your knees so sitting on a cushion is the natural solution but all the cushions I sit on make me sink backwards into it, which forces me to use abs and hip flexors to maintain a proper upright position but I can never relax because it's always encouraging that back rounding and whatnot. As soon as I sat on this meditation cushion I noticed that I was immediately fixed in place and my spine remained perfectly upright without any need to fight to maintain it. The buckwheat adjusts perfectly to remove any hard spots or discomfort throughout the sit and within 15 minutes I no longer feel my body at all and can full focus on the internal work. This really is night and day compared to normal cushions/pillows where I rarely get to that state of ease in the body enough to forget about it completely. This is an optimal tool if you're serious about your form and meditation work.As for just sitting on it by itself for no specific reason, it's firm and supportive but if you're looking for maximum comfort to lounge then it'll be too firm, I'm sure. Using it as a foot rest is very comfortable too. But I really wanna emphasize that it is amazing at maintaining your correct posture.

The velvet exterior of the cushion feels so luxurious. I like the loop on the side so it is easily picked up and moved. The top of the cushion has a interior foam cushion so I'm not sitting directly on the buckwheat. The cushion is just large enough for me to sit and it's high enough to have my legs dangle down while cross legged and be really comfortable. I've also used this as a headrest for when I use my massage rollerball. And I can use it as a footrest too. I do have to re-plump the cushion occasionally since the buckwheat is easily shifted. Otherwise I'm really happy with this cushion.
