I've tried the round cushion, the moon shaped cushion and also a wooden meditation bench. None of them suited my frame or lack of flexibility. This however, was perfect. The fact that it's adjustable is what has made it so comfortable.

This bench is a great value and exactly what I needed for meditation. I sit in a kneeling posture, and was so tired of arranging yoga blocks and cushions that were constantly toppling over. I have tried other meditation benches, but they are always too short for my very long legs. Initially, this bench was not quite high enough for me, but I reached out to their customer service and they quickly sent me an extender for free! Amazing!! Now I can adjust it to a perfect height for me, and even have room to spare. I use a small pillow on top just for cushioning, and it's just right. And I'm happy it's light and easily transportable, as I plan on bringing it with me when I travel.

This bench can’t stand upright alone. You have to adjust it first and set.

Je l'utilise pour jardiner. La position agenouillée devient difficile avec le temps. Le banc diminue la pression sur mes articulations. Le bas de mon dos est aussi mieux aligné, moins courbé et force moins dans cette position. Génial!

This item is USELESS, very unstable and NOT what I expected to receive, VERY disappointing!

I love meditating on a bench generally. I can't do crosslegged for long epriods,a nd i dislike a chair. I am comfortable on a bench. I own a heavy wooden bench which is very sturdy. I bought this one for use at the office and when travelling about. this one is very light but feels sturdy to me when I use it. I'd say I have 10 hours or so on it. I find it actually more comfortable than my very sturdy wooden bench. I enjoy the small profile and the rubbery top. For a longer session, say over 30 minutes, I might prefer the wooden bench, for a bit more solidity, but I definitely like this for shorter sessions. I am not sliding around or imbalanced, though there is a touch more self stabilization required. I think this is an EXCELLENT item and though I was hesitant to buy it, because it looked kind of junky and plasticky in the ad, I am very pleasantly surprised and feel it was more than worth the price.

Finding a comfortable way to sit during meditation is fundamental to developing a solid practice that will facilitate the realization of your goals, be it merely more calmness or full blown enlightenment. I have never been able to sit crosslegged so I gave kneeling a try recently and found it to do the trick: a solid base while not so luxurious as to be sleep inducing. It has transformed my practice. This Seiza bench was my first purchase on my road to a regular practice. I set the adjustable height setting at the tallest. I'm 6'2" and about 190 lbs with a good bit of that height in my legs. The effect is that a higher kneeling position is better for me as it evens out the load on my feet and knees. This bench turned out to be just a tad to short for my long term use but because it is easily taken apart I will use it when travelling to weekend retreats. It's well made and lightweight and I'm glad I bought it.You will not fall asleep on this. It rests on a small curved foot and requires that your posture be maintained. This is actually a benefit since proper posture and not too luxurious a sitting is important to success.I began practicing Vipassana in the Goenka tradition a little over a year ago. After an almost obligatory year of avoiding daily meditation, i took another 10 day course a couple of months ago and have been sitting regularly twice a day for an hour ever since. My regularity is due in no small part to finding the right position. My daily setup is a buckwheat filled zafu, turned sideways and cinched with an old leather belt to keep the sides from going out and the height dropping. This works well so far for my daily rig but for travelling I can't think of a more portable, lightweight and sturdy bench than this one I'm reviewing.May you find true peace, true happiness and freedom from suffering and it's causes.
