I have bad knees so sitting seiza posture is painful. This bench, especially with my zafu cushion on top of it and my zabuton cushion underneath it, makes morning zazen meditation much more comfortable on my old achey bones.

The bench is made of solid wood and is very stable, which is great. However, the design of the legs is questionable. While it comes with a nice travel bag, it’s practically useless because the legs have to be attached with four tiny screws using a tiny screwdriver. Realistically, no one is going to unscrew the legs, store them in the bag, and then reattach them before every session. That said, the bench has one big advantage: it works well on a bed or foam surface without pressing into your heels, unlike other benches that can become uncomfortable on soft ground. That’s the main reason I ordered a second one. If the leg attachment were more practical, this would be a near-perfect product.

If you kneel with your toes tucked under or even flat with shoes on they will not fit under. Strange burn mark.

The bench is fine , but how portable ? Only if you screw and unscrew the legs every time.... it makes no sense, the legs are quite loose without the screws, considering returning it , pity !
