This steel rule is a fantastic tool for machinists. It's built solid with no flex, making it reliable for precise measurements. The numbers are clear and high contrast, which makes them easy to read. The satin chrome finish adds a nice touch and enhances durability. Overall, a great addition to any toolbox.

I’ve become an accomplished amateur machinist to augment my Journeyman Welder status. I’ve had the good fortune to build a fully equipped machining, welding and fabricating shop.My Red Seal Millwright/Industrial Mechanic mentor taught me to buy affordable (spelled c-h-e-a-p) perishable tooling but not to compromise on measuring equipment.I’ve gathered a collection of NOS (New Old Stock) Soviet, Polish, Ukrainian, British, Swiss and Japanese metrology tools such as manual/digital calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, etcetera. Most of my gear though, is made by Mitutoyo… I guess I’ve become a fan-boy!This Mitutoyo ruler is the finest in my collection of 6-inchers!The laser etched indices and lettering are deep, crisp and easy to read. All edges are square & accurate but not cut-yourself sharp. The non-glare matt finish appeals to me and wipes cleanly if my greasy or coolant covered hands dirty the ruler.I’ve had the Mitutoyo all Imperial, 6”, 4R ruler for over 30 years and recently added this Imperial/metric unit to my collection.Mitutoyo quality is every bit as good today as it was 3 decades ago!I recommend this item!

It measures everything (up to 15cm). The numbers are crispier than pork rind and the manufacturing is Sublime. Unfortunately I can't use it as I had to frame it and hung it on my wall

This is a great scale with sharp, clean markings that are very high quality and easy to read. Speaking of sharp, the edges of the sample I received were super sharp. If used as a ruler, the edges tend to want to catch the paper as you move it around, and it feels like it could cut you if you let your guard down while handling it. Otherwise it feels like a quality Mitutoyo product. This is a scale you could pass down for many generations.

Quite beautiful & well crafted instrument, a smidgen expensive but it's a Japanese Mitutoyo...With its 27 grams of 304 stainless, it sticks very well to a neodymium magnet. The micrometer is telling me that mine is just a tad fatter than the 3/64" thickness. Maybe it was too warm from my fingers and got swollen a bit.Very very crisp lines. The lines must be laser etched, they are recessed below the surface (which is what's needed). For comparison, the last picture is comparing the graduation to a 7 $, 12 inch Ruler; the Mitutoyo lines are about half the width of the cheaper brand and makes it 2x more crisp / easier to measure.Wishes:I wished it was 1" wide instead of the 3/4".I wished the back was 100th of Inches instead of metric.Martin Politick, December 2021.

This was exactly what I was looking for, a short, easy to read and inflexible ruler. Its not cheap but feels high quality in the hand. In my opinion it's worth the extra money over something cheap as it seems like it will last a long time.
