Tried it for 2 weeks. I have a very sore tailbone and have been seeking treatment for it. Wanted to give this a try, but regrettably it's very thin, and doesn't offer much cushioning at all. Solid build, easy to wash, but not at all useful for me. Gong to try to use a split cushion instead.

I nought this same product back in 2006 & it was amazing with gel so comfortable you forgot you were sitting on it. I always used it in my car & on international flights. The one I ordered was not comfortable the moment I sat on it & the inside cushioning was different. I was very sad. I retuned it immediately.

This is the second one I have purchased for my husband. He uses them in our automobiles. He has 2 herniated discs in his lower back and this cushion helps to keep the sciatic nerve from flaring up and causing back and leg pain as he travels.He has had the first one for over 10 years. It still gives good support.

It's a good cushion.When I received it, I was concerned that it won't stay in place in my car seat, because there are no straps of any kind to attach the cushion to the seat. But after a week of use I can confirm that it stays in place. I have Mazda 3 bucket seats with cloth cover, other types of seats might be a different story. The pillow raised me about 1" higher and now I have better lumbar support (which I barely had before) due to my height I suppose (174 cm). The cushion is comfortable and well made. I'm happy.Edit: after a month of use the cushion got flattened half way, now it's basically half inch thick, and I lost the lumbar support (as was described above). It is still a good cushion, but not as good as when it was new, minus point for that.

The Obusforme Gel Seat is widely reviewed here on Amazon, so I'll just attempt to add some additional info via photos and with a few quick personal observations.While I am pleased with this item overall, I'll first mention that I was expecting a 'seat' (due to the photo of a 'seat'). It's not REALLY a seat. If a distinction helps, I'd be inclined to call this a 'sitting pad.' Calling this a 'gel seat' is a little ambitious. It does have a gel layer, though not really much gel. This is a memory foam pad with a thin mesh layer of gel added.I'm giving 4 stars ... in part due to the fact that I can't give 3.5 stars. However, a score of 70% would be fitting from my perspective. I feel a little more gel and a little more foam would have made it near perfect. Otherwise, the size is okay ... and the cover materials used are, as usual, good quality from Obusforme.All in all, a more accurate description and photo depiction in the item's commercial packaging would have been very helpful for me when I was trying to decide on this item vs. competing makes and models.Concerning the overall quality, I suspect it will last quite a while. I highly recommend this gel seat to anyone with chronic lower back pain. I had been scheduled for surgery to undergo fusion of three levels of my lumbar spine. While waiting for the surgery, I decided to work harder at avoiding activities that exacerbate symptoms; I quit lifting or carrying anything over 10 to 15 pounds and made a commitment to continue a routine of stretching exercises learned during a year of physical therapy.When used with a quality office chair that can be adjusted for height and back angle, this Obusforme product has enabled me to work full days in comfort. Double sided tape was added under the pad and this keeps it aligned with the front edge of my chair. I found this to be essential; otherwise it continuously slides back and the beneficial support is lost. Others might prefer the pad further back; but may still want to hold it in the optimum position with double sided tape.

In the picture it looks as if it provides support for the back and the thgighs as if there is a high edge which it doesn't. It looks flat and only when you touch it carefully you notice a very subtle thickness on the edges.The cover is thick and beautiful with zipper, the insert is memory foam. The cushion itself is great but in my opinion ia a totally different item from the picture that's why l gave it 3 stars. I think there should be a more realistic photo with less shades

I have fractures in my T-spine which cause significant pain when sitting, especially on wooden benches, lawn chairs.... basically anything with a solid surface or that doesn't provide enough general support. This product, in combination with the Obusforme Ultra Forme Backrest, gives me relief!PROS: Sitting on wooden benches, rocking chairs, larger lawn chairs, some dining chairs, etc. are now possible thanks to this gel seat (combined with the backrest). Where I might be able to sit for 20-30 minutes using a pillow, I can now comfortably sit upwards of 90+ minutes because of this gel seat. The time I'm able to sit without needing to get up and move around has easily doubled/tripled. I am very happy with this product!CONS: There are two types of seating I have found this gel seat doesn't help with... couches, and chairs with a small seat (many dining room chairs, bar stools, small patio chairs, etc.) I end up sinking into the seat of a couch, where it would be nearly impossible for this to provide any support, and chairs that have a smaller seat don't work because the added bulk of the gel seat (and for me a backrest too) mean I'm partially sitting off the chair.Overall, I am very happy with this gel seat and think the support it provides in most situations is great!

I sit in my desk chair several hours per day. My otherwise comfortable chair is suffering from thinning padding on the seat, so I bought this cushion to get more life out of the chair. I was immediately pleased with the results, and now one month later the cushion still seems in fine shape. It is not super-duper comfortable like I was hoping, but at least it does cushion the hardness that I feel protruding up through the padding of my chair. The gel seems to work great at holding its shape (note that the cushion is not shaped like in the picture but is in reality more flat). Maybe if it was a little thicker then I would have gotten that "ahhhh" super comfortable seat I was hoping for. I give 4 stars because it is doing what it's supposed to do, just not spectacularly.Edit: November, about 10 months later -- still using this cushion and am really pleased with how well it has held up! I think I like it more now than when I first got it. :)

I use this at work for 9 hours everyday and it's awesome. I've had it for a year now and performs/looks as if new. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews for this. I weigh about 170 lbs and the difference it makes every morning that I sit on it is honestly worth 20x what I paid. When you have back pain, etc., of which I have multiple issues from my past, you know exactly what I mean. I do wish it was just slightly larger but I'm still highly pleased and will likely buy another one for other purposes in the future. While it's not as curved as it looks in the picture, it's totally irrelevant too. After sitting on it for a few hours, it does look like the picture. THIS IS NOT JUST A NORMAL CUSHION!!!!!!!! I have normal pillows and cushions at home and I assure you this is a high-tech product that actually does what the manufacturer claims it does. It will put a smile on your face; it does mine every morning at 8:00 A.M. I'm only writing this review b/c I was previously diswayed by the negative reviews and I don't want anyone else to be without an excellent product. :)
