Seems like a good basic compass. Bezel is solid and no bubble. Pointer centers on North quickly and accurately. Interested in seeing how long it will last.

I wanted a simple compass for travelling overseas and could not go past this one. It is clear, easy to read and strong enough to handle the knocks that are inevitable during travel. It is sturdy and very well made. I recommend this item highly.

I've never submitted a review to Amazon before but felt compelled to warn people not to waste money on this item. It looks nice, but the needle doesn't reliably point North which is why you buy a compass. If I set it on the table the reading changes; if I rotate my body around 360 degrees the reading changes. Just don't buy it. It's not even good as a cheap throwaway for kids to learn with.

I have used it every time I go to hiking or whenever I go to a new place, never fail since it doesn't require battery like my phone

This compass works.I got this compass quickly before a trip.It works alright, but you have to be careful that the needle has settled. If you are in a boat or off-level at all, it can get hung up easily and provide a false measurement. It's much more touchy than my old compass (it's also much cheaper).I was able to use it effectively once we got to know each other. If you need a cheap compass, this one could suffice.

The compass does not have a separate declination ring but using the fixed declination scale works as well

I bought this for my son for his first compass but honestly the quality is amazing for $9.98 I have nothing but good things to say. I would use this myself.

I have recently taken up hiking and had previous experience with orienteering that taught me a compass is a lightweight important safety device. Works and looks great. I love it. Don't rely on phones with GPS in the bush. A map and compass don't require power or a good phone signal.
