I was surprised by the thickness of the metal shaft, i figured it would be really thin but the metal is thick as a quarter all around. We cut out logs to 16" for our fires and had no problem moving them around the fire

I had been looking at fire bellows and came across this one. I was intrigued by the ability to use it as a bellows plus as a fire poker. As a fire poker, it works a lot better than I thought it would as it's a 2 piece construction. But it handled the logs while camping with no problems at all. The bellows part worked well, though I think I'll get a collapsible pocket bellows to use instead. While it worked really well to get the fire going, I felt with the larger diameter, it used more breath more quickly than the narrower bellows would. All in all though, I'm very pleased and hope this continues to work for years to come.

While I do like the fact that it telescopes and makes it convenient for packing and travel, it also creates another direction for airflow to move. I really don't like the ring at the mouthpiece, I'm going to take it out. Finally the fact that the bottom has such a large hole makes it impractical. Cuts down on the force of airflow and the best way to use it is to put the end directly up against a piece of charcoal wood or something in the fire pit and blow out through the small side hole.

Product is exactly as pictured. Functional as something to move logs around. Would have liked something at the tip instead of an open pipe though
