For some reasons the stereo line (TRS) outs of my Yamaha DGX660 are weak and when split into two TS cables in order to feed to my Focusrite Clarette+ Octopre they sounded very noisy to the point unusable. I tried all sort of boxes and cables and nothing worked. I got this unit used, like new. I don't even know whether the tubes exist in it but did see some lights. I have not even turned the "drive" on. It just worked. I used a TRS to TS from the DGX660 to the BluTube, then ran a pair of XLR cables to the Octopre. The sound is clean and strong and sounded like piano. The build is solid. I also have a Persons HP4 (headphone splitter) and it is also solid. I like them both.

Unit came on brand new condition and everything seemed great, received it within 24 hours of purchase, took advantage of the very cheap discount deal. However it did not come with an Australian power lead. See photo. Seems a bit dodgy now, and a bit disappointed. Easy enough to get one but still annoying.

I was not able to get any actual tube warmth sounds from it. Or nice tube overdrive.I tried changing the tube. Nothing. Turning the tube drive all the way makes no difference in the sound it produces. I sort of feel the tube in this is a marketing gimic. And I recommend art pro audio products instead of Prosonus now.Update: I had already reviewed this. I was ok to use it as a line level preamp. Like a small boost if working with guitar pedals to line level signals.I recently thought I would try this again as a mic preamp. And to my disastisfaction when you need more gain at mic input levels, you might as well just hook up a pink noise machine. I can probably build my own better mic preamps with less noise with op-amps on a breadboard than this rubbish.Update (AGAIN): I have! if you are handy, get your self some OPA2134 op amp ICS, and well, the electronics lab..but if you are not handy, get the Art Pro MPA-II Two Channel Studio Mic Preamp. But either way, don't get this..

This is a very neat unit that performs well, especially at the price. The 'valve sound' facility is subtle when used in moderation and adds some warmth to the overall sound. I changed the Chinese 12AX7 with a USA Jan Philips 12AT7 and whilst this reduced the amount of gain available it made the sound and control much improved. VU meters are a nice touch to days gone by....only criticism is the abscence of an on/off switch....other than that it's a fine purchase.

I use this to power my Blue Yeti Pro for live streaming, online gaming, and voice overs. I absolutely love it! I was a little hesitant to go from usb to an analog connection, but I am so glad I did! The tubes add a nice smoothness and warmth to my voice that I, and others love! This adds, as one of my friends said, a majestic tone to my mic that it was lacking while I was over usb. It has a very nice build quality that looks like it will stand the test of time. My only complaint would be the blue face plate, I wish it was black or silver to match the rest of my gear (oh well), and the light they use to illuminate the VU meter is a little weak.
