I already had a Nova adapter that I wasn't thrilled with when I ordered this one. Both the RGWOOD and Nova increase the spindle runout a little, but the cheaper RGWOOD had considerably less runout. I prefer not to use an adapter at all and am in the process of replacing my remaining 1-8tpi chucks, but this screw-on adapter allows me to use the vacuum chucks that I haven't upgraded yet.

Excellent well machined precision adapter fits perfect on my Powermatic 1 1/4" spindle and accepts all my Nova chucks that are set up for 1" 8tpi. I don't have to swap chuck adapters to use chucks setup for my other lathes. I have quite a few adaptors and faceplates from this vendor and have never been disappointed. The machining is excellent and the adaptors themselves are weighty and solid. I like that these are from a wood turning family business in Canada, too, rather than a big manufacturing plant in China- though I can't be sure exactly where they are made.

I bought this for my Laguna 1524 lathe. It allows me to use chucks that are made for other lathes. It works as it should.
