"OFC": Oxygen Free Copper. Copper wire basically has a little less resistance and retains more WATTS or AMPS over a given distance then aluminum clad wire. It's not a huge difference roughly 10-20% difference, aviation use's aluminum wire to save weight and it works great for jet's and helicopters."CCA": Copper Clad Aluminum. This is aluminum wire coated in copper to help with corrosion and conductivity. Copper is superior to aluminum copper clad however aluminum copper clad wire works great and most will not notice the difference.PRO:-real copper wire-oversized 4 gauge-super soft pliable insulation-ground wire is pre terminated with a ring terminal-FUSE holder works great and is simple-comes with a AMP turn on wire-FUSE is set up and ready to go-great value!CON:-packaging was that type of plastic that makes you nearly cut your finger off to try and get into it!-FUSE holder is NOT waterproof or even water tight.-amp wire is very thin gauge maybe 22-ground wire appeared to be CCA coated with copper. Please see my pictures regarding this wire kit vs the 0/1 Gauge Soundbox kit.

If I were just reviewing wire, there would be a 5-star rating. I didn't count to make sure there were 1800+ strands of copper, but the wire is super flexible and there is plenty of copper here. Just by looking, I would say that RF's claims about their wire is true. The only flaw for some might be the appearance of the jacket; it is dull. Personally, I like it, but it doesn't really matter in my installation because it is all hidden. For flashier installs, this might not get it done. I liked that the large ring terminals were already installed on the ends so I didn't have to worry about making the crimp on this large wire. Some have complained that the supplied red (positive) lead from the battery to the fuseholder is too long. It is about 12-inches, which is a good length for pre-fab because you never know what your mounting options might be. I was able to cut my lead down to 4-inches. You can always cut; you can't make it longer. Some have complained about the ground wire; it is still copper- use with confidence and ground it to the chassis properly. RF provides an additional ring terminal if you want to make ground wire out of leftover red jacket. The wire fit perfectly snug inside the 4-gauge connectors on my Alpine amplifier. The weak link in this set is definitely the fuse holder. First, the kit comes with a 100-amp Maxi fuse, not 60-amp, so just beware in case 100-amp is too large for your application as it was in mine. This is not a showstopper; Maxi fuses this size are available in rating increments of 10 amps up to 100-amp at your favorite auto parts store. Second, the fuseholder is not waterproof or even water resistant. It does employ O-rings on the threads of the screw caps, but there is a large gap in the body of the fuseholder where the Maxi enters the body from the outside. I have used circuit breakers and waterproof AGU and ANL fuseholders- this is the oddest and least secure setup I have ever seen. It works, but I don't like the way this thing is designed. Water or moisture can easily enter the fuseholder between the fuse body and the O-ring or from the wire ends. Don't be fooled, it looks water resistant, but it definitely is not.I like the wire terminals inside the fuse holder; they are heavy duty. The allen head set screws that clamp down on the Maxi fuse, however, are either an odd size or weak metal; I can't find an allen that will snug them down onto the fuse to my satisfaction. There is a rubberized plastic cover that is supposed to snap into place after you have tightened down on the fuse, but it is not very secure. I don't hate the fuseholder- it's a 50/50 prospect. I like all the metal parts except for the small allen set screws but none of the plastic. Make sure you mount it so that it is least likely to get wet under the hood. Surely RF could have supplied a waterproof (or at least water resistant) AGU fuseholder at no additional cost. For now it works; I might replace it with something better down the road. In my experience, Phoenix Gold is king in this area (Stinger is good, too). UPDATE: I looked at some of the other offerings on Amazon and see that the "off brands" offer what appears to be waterproof AGU fuseholders AND heavy gauge wire for about half what I paid for this RF set. Can't comment on the quality; you still get what you pay for, so there has to be a quality hit somewhere.Out of everything available on Amazon, though, this is tops in my opinion and I would order it again strictly for the quality of the wire and the price. Great wire- great termination (an area I know will be lower quality in the off brands). The off brands will give you way more headache than I have described here and be of much lower quality. I can live with the fuseholder because the fuses are cheap and easy to get anywhere and I was able to install it in a safe place under the hood. Recommended.
