This mute does the job. Although mini, it does fit nicely in the bell and doesn't fall out unexpectedly. It does create a bit of pressure when playing so you have to adjust your air for that. It makes a fun sound! The best part is that because of its size, it easily fits inside your case along with other accessories so it makes for easy travel and transportation.

While this mute softens the sound of your trumpet, it changes the pitch of your horn (drops a whole step), and not in a consistent way across the scale (goes down a half step across the octave). I found it to make my trumpet unplayable. It's a tiny thing, and I think it goes too far up the throat of the bell.With some effort you might be able to lip up the notes and stay on a pitch - so maybe this could be used for ear/lip training of some sort, but definitely not useful when playing with other people or practicing songs. I do not recommend this.

Simple and cheaply made but it is effective and that's all that matters - mutes the sound of a preteen learner !

This mute for my daughter's Trumpet fit better than her other one. She says it's easy to put in and take out. It's not too heavy and works and sounds great.
