Both the gasket and adhesive are quality products. The adhesive was just the right amount and following directions resulted in proper application and a good seal. Very pleased with the result. It was easy to do but did take a little time. TIP: Don't rush it--allow enough time, do the proper preparation, WEAR GLOVES, and protect your working surface because the black does get on things. This is a very small investment over what it would have cost to have it done by my local wood-stove store, and it only took an hour or so rather than waiting days to get my door back.

The gasket was fine but I needed it about 6 inches longer.

It's the size and density recommended by the wood stove's manufacturer so I assume it will work fine. Since the gasket requires the stove be fired for a period of time to cure the cement, I'm going to wait for much cooler weather before installing it.

Unlike some others that have posted, I had no issue using the included adhesive. It's holding nicely on the outside of my Brinkmann smoker, a fairly hostile environment.Like painting, it's all about the prep. I used a wire brush to remove everything - paint, imperfections, etc - then sanded just a bit. Then I cleaned with a rust remover/bare metal prep product I got locally.I really kneaded the adhesive tube as instructed, and pulled the rope around the lid with just a bit of tension and fastened the ends together with a paper clip. In theory, I still couldn't do what the instructions say, which is to glue it in place and close the (oven, fireplace?) door to press it in place. I didn't have that luxury.I did take the lid and set it outside in the sun after an hour...on a 92 degree day around noon in south Florida - my version of curing the adhesive. So I have had it for 6 weeks or so. It sits outside, covered sometimes, not always, and I've used the smoker 3 times since then. Doesn't appear to budge. I imagine I could rip it off, but why?If you're buying this to seal your smoker, I highly recommend it. The size is great, and the black adhesive included with mine worked great and setup fast.
