I just recieved my Saramonic AR SX107 today from the supplier an I must say I am quite impressed with its performance. I am a guitar player and singer and I tried a Stero recording using 2 Shure SM 57 microphones placed about 2 feet from my mixer speakers and after setting the gain levels on my camera and the Saramonic I was able to achieve some very good results and with some fine tuning they will be very good. I next recorded straight from my mixer direct to the Saramonic using two 1/4 inch to Male XLR Cables and after getting the guitar and vocals mix just right the recordings were fantastic. When I get time I will post a music video so you can hear what this unit is capable of. I also done a pod recording using a Shure 58 into the left channel set to mono and the broadcast quality was excellent. Good buy for the price and performes very well.

I've had this for a little over three months now and after finally being able to extensively test it I have to say I'm very disappointed. After watching some of the links they posted I thought for sure that this was the right choice over the Zoom H4N to use with my DSLR. The ability to not have to marry audio seemed like a godsend and I was ecstatic to try this out.I've done 8 test shoots now and I have to say the audio quality is subpar. It's not as bad as many DSLRs are without a microphone but it still has a horrible hissing sound that needs to be adjusted in post. I wish I had tested this and returned it within the allotted frame because as of now I'd love to get my money back. I've reached out to Saramonic and hopefully they can either walk me through an alternative route to make the audio sound crisp, or they can directly refund me. I would be spending more time in post editing out the light hiss then I would just marrying clean audio from a separate recorder to begin with. For reference I shot on a Canon t5i with a rode 3 shotgun mic attached. The microphone definitely still picked up too much camera noise :( Maybe it sounds better with Lavs or other mics but my purposes are mainly shotgun mics so this was a huge disappointment.I'll revise my post if Saramonic is able to get back to me. I hope they have excellent customer service because as of now it feels like i flushed away 200 dollars.UPDATE: I reached out to Saramonic and promptly got the run around before they basically said they couldn't / wouldn't help me.So to summarize my experience: The audio quality still produces a noticeable hiss with a high end shotgun microphone, Saramonic was pretty terrible about getting back to me then promptly refused to help by continuing to try and blame others... Yikes I personally am going to stay away from all Saramonic products moving forward.

Using with my Canon t3i for interviews. Works great, sounds good. Keep extra batteries around. It was the perfect solution/price for my situation.
