This component is oversized for what it needs to do. Check the dimensions, it’s big. Not exactly convenient to mount as the case is poorly designed for a simple screw or bolt on connection. But I really love it. It’s a big loud on / off switch that leaves no doubt where it is set. Easy solar mc4 connections, and came with extra connectors = bonus.

This worked very well for my mobile solar installation. I'd buy it again.I do believe it's watertight. Which can be extremely important when regularly working at around 78 volts raw output from series-wired panels.

The unit seems like good quality. The plastic case seems very sturdy and switch seems well made and properly terminated with 2 series poles used on each leg = 4 poles total for the disconnect - this should withstand at least 1000V. The lockout will not allow a typical lock but only a mini lock or zip tie.

This is a solidly made, well packaged and with accessories. Wasn't expecting all of the extras packaged with it which was a nice surprise. Everything you'll need to get it installed quickly and securely. Worth the money for sure.

I installed this on my boat as a means of disconnecting the solar array from the solar charge controller. it's generally recommended to cover the solar panels prior to disconnection or do it at night, but this is not always feasible out on the water. This switch provides a way to disconnect solar panels very quickly should it be necessary. For example, I've had charge controller (not the ones shown) malfunction and send current TO the solar panels rather than collecting current from them. The switch also allows dual pole disconnect meaning both positive and negative leads are disconnected simultaneously which reduces the chances of a voltage spike. Note: The photo does not show ground wires connected too the chassis ground posts on the charge controllers. This will be completed prior to utilizing the system. Overall, this appears to be a well made switch that feels solid when the knob is rotated from one position to the other. Look at dimensions carefully before ordering as it's fairly large.
