This is made of metal that is far too thin for the job. Very flimsy and will not stand up to bending, it is as thin as paper and barely usable. Held together with screw and fastener that loosens at every use and is very annoying. The numbers are indeed etched into the metal and it is readable and accurate.

I did look at a lot of these before ordering but this one is very flimsy and I thought it had both metric and SAE on the tapered gauge. It does not and so is not really of any use to me. Make sure you order one that will work for your application. poor quality and waste of money.
