This paper is great and will be used not only for drawing but various mixed medium projects. I wish it had more than 30 sheets but I have two and will work with what I have. All-in-all so far I like the product.

When I saw the reviews, the product description and the price I was pretty excited about this product. 184 pound paper is heavier than what I usually paint on and it was an important factor in my decision to make the purchase. I was planning to do some space style paintings that use a lot of water. I have been fighting this piece of 9x12 black for two days. Every time I wet it to get colors to flow in order to create a space gas effect, the paper buckles badly and even though I have it blocked The paper with tape onto hard board, it still buckles badly and effects where my paint goes. I'll have to conserve this paper for pastels and drier techniques. It's not working for me at all when I saturated it for this very wet technique. It does dry fairly flat but I cannot get the paint where I want it to go because it's running off the sides of the buckles. I'm disappointed.

It's Strathmore. Can't go wrong with this brand. If you aren't buying exotic papers, Strathmore is the way to go. Been using this brand for a very long time. This is a black pad of mixed media paper. I can't wait to play! It is thick so you can truly get it wet with your acrylics, water colors, etc. You can also use it for your charcoals and pencils. This is nice with charcoals. I have tried to go cheaper that offers mixed media paper in more pages per order. Most are not truly mixed media. Most are not thick enough to use wet mediums even though they say you can. If Strathmore says it's for mixed media, you can trust the info.

I was super excited and nervous to try out this kind of paper with watercolor and gauche paints. It has been a bit of a process to learn how to use it, but the results have been phenomenal. It takes to shimmer paint very well. The paper is surprisingly strong and doesn’t ripple at all, at least for me. The only issue I found was that a piece got scrubbed when I didn’t let it dry properly and then over worked it, but that’s my own issue, not the paper. Highly recommend!

I like the paper, it’s my first time using the black paper it’s thicker too so I like that. It came quick in the mail but a bit damaged as seen in photo.
