This is supposed to be blue toned paper. Clearly it wasn't died in the factory or something.

Has wonderful texture for graphite, charcoal and surprisingly pastel pencils. I love that the background is already "colored in" for me. You can create excellent contrast. This is actually the 3rd one that I've purchased as I also have the toned and gray versions as well. Outstanding value for the money!
