I used these in my camper when were next door at a friend's place. I like the battery operated option. They work great and are super cute!

Bought these to have a battery operated monitor for camping. Charged them when we first got the package and everything seemed to work ok. Took forever to charge so figured the battery would last a good long time. When we took them out for camping, the batteries were dead. UPDATE: Seller contacted me and wanted to fix the issue. They sent me new rechargeable batteries and that fixed the issue. Now it holds a charge and works well. Thanks!

Bought this for camping, the batteries stopped working and they were fully charged. Ended up using regular batteries.

I bought this in July of 2022 for a camping trip. It worked for the weekend with batteries installed and plugged in, except we couldn't go to our friends campsite across the road because the range would not reach. That was fine, I understood. Nbd, now we know. Came back from trip, took the batteries out and stored away in its case.Went to use it about a month later when my MIL was watching my son over night, and we tried setting it up without batteries, and just plugged in. We'll, we tried fiddling with it for an hour, and couldn't figure it out, so we ended up getting a screwdriver, opening up the battery compartment and putting the batteries back in the parent unit, (not the baby one) and leaving both units plugged in. My MIL told me baby stated crying and the unit didn't go off. Thought it might have been a user error on her part and she didn't have sound up or something.Well I just tried using it again making sure it works for my MIL again since she's watching baby this weekend. Nope. I tried plugging them in, with no batteries and didn't work. I tried plugging them in with batteries, didn't work. I tried turning it on with batteries and not plugged in and didn't work. The parent unit started vibrating and would not stop and said "30C" which I assure you- my house is not 30C as I live in Canada and its winter. I've been trying to fiddle with it for an hour now and cannot figure out what the heck is going on or why.... maybe a faulty unit? Idk. I really want to love this unit as we go camping lots in summer and needed something for when my MIL watches my son. But I paid over $50 to use one time, and since I bought 3 months ago, I cannot return now....I am hoping the seller sees this and is able to help me and maybe send another unit in hopes this is faulty.

EDIT: updated to 2 starsI've had this since the summer and DID really like it. But then the units became finicky when accepting charge, and sometimes would be plugged in at night, only to wake us up at 4am with low battery beeping. We'd fidget with it and good to go. Now after owning and using it every day for maybe 7 months, the child unit doesn't turn on anymore. At all.Typical use was plugged in all night and unplugged and turned off during the day turned on for one 3 hour nap. Then the batter would be fine but low, until bedtime a few hours later, when we'd plug them both in again. Shame, I really liked this one.Along comes baby 2 and the need for a new, reliable monitor. I spent HOURS researching all types of monitors and brands, watched the cringe worthy mommy YouTuber reviews. I settled on the penguin version of this audio monitor and am very happy with it so far.Toddler and I are testing it out, and we like to play walkie talkie hide and seek, so I know the batteries last for at least an hour (will eventually do a full charge and then test out battery life). These are easy to use, come with a convenient travel case, are about palm size and light weight which is ideal for stuffing into a pocked or using the belt clip. The audio is very clear, and I love that I can adjust the volume on the child unit for when I speak/ use the lullaby setting. Also the eco setting in the parent unit is fantastic, and I'm curious how long that will extend the parent unit battery.

I purchased the cute teal owl (Mustang OL). When I first plugged it in (just the parent unit) I got very loud obnoxious beeps (the child unit was not plugged in). This freaked out my children. I plugged in the child unit and eventually the beeps went away. I then set it in night mode (eco mode) as the manual seemed to say that this would not cause the obnoxious audible alerts. When still in this mode I unplugged the child unit and the obnoxious alerts started. I consider this a moderate annoyance. However, tested over several nights, with various volumes (including max volume), changing sensitivity on the child unit, night mode on and off, I was not able to hear the children unless I placed the parent unit up to my ear. This is the key feature of this product and it failed. I need to be able to hear my children during the night when I am sleeping.Ultimately I am returning the product. It is unfortunate as the product was very visually appealing.

I have been using this product for about a week.Dog likes to be outside during cool weather and I like to be inside, but I need to be able to hear when he is barking excessively. Though not intended for outdoor use, I place the transmitter in a plastic Sterlite box near him, and it works perfectly! Even during rain showers.I searched and searched and did not find another product that is battery operated on both units. Battery lasts through the night. If near electrical outlet, units will operate during battery recharging; if not, attach a USB portable charger for continued functioning during recharge. The battery charging lights seem a bit quirky. With both units powered off and charging:The transmitter's indicator light turns from RED to UNLIT after battery is fully-charged.The receiver's light turns from RED to FLASHING GREEN to SOLID GREEN after after battery is fully-charged.Temperature gauge is off/cooler by at least 10°F. It's okay, easy to add 10.Too bad there is not a way to disable the vibrate function. During the night it is great to wake me, but not needed otherwise, and a bit annoying at times.I rather it did not have the night light function. It is easy to accidently turned it on and not realize it. Obviously, it depletes the battery faster.Dog can be in his yard on either side of the house. I can carry the receiver around the house with me. Range is good enough through walls. Beep indicates when I happen to move out of range (large yard and house). The portability of these units is exactly what I needed. Works especially well for us. Because elderly dog is not very mobile, he does not wander out of range. He barks because he is working or needs assistance. I hear him. Makes us happy.

FINALLY! I finally found a baby monitor that can take batteries on both units! I got it in the mail next day right in time for our camping trip! Only comes with 3 rechargeable batteries, wish it came with two sets but either way I'm so happy I don't have to worry about not hearing my baby. 3 regular triple AAA batteries will hold about 5-6 hours in both units. While the chargeable ones in the parent unit lasted me 7+ hours in total. The range is excellent as well! And still comes with two cords to plug in when you don't need batteries!

We bought this baby monitor to use when we go camping and can't use our regular baby monitors due to not having 120v power hookups. This is very hard to find in a baby monitor. These work great as both the parent and the baby unit can run off of batteries or off of a 12 volt power supply. We have a USB outlet in our trailer so we plug the baby unit into that for constant power. We also use this same USB outlet to charge the parent unit during the day and then run on batteries outside the trailer at nap time or late in the evenings. The baby monitor has a very long range (longer than our high quality 120volt video baby monitor), allows for the parent to talk to the baby unit, remotely turn on a night light on the baby unit, monitor the temperature around the baby unit, and play music to the baby unit. It also pleasantly lowers the volume that parent unit generates until it hears a sound and then increases the volume on the parent unit. We find this very nice as we often have white noise going in the trailer to help our kids sleep but we don't really want to hear it on the parent unit. The parent unit also will vibrate when a sound is made if you turn the volume down completely. All in all, this is the perfect baby monitor for camping and at a great price! Highly recommend.

We have had a plug-in style baby monitor for a while. Our daughter is three now, but has autism and is non-verbal. We put the batteries in the baby unit because we need to keep it away from her— she likes to crawl under her bed and chew on the monitor, so for her safety we got this so we can hang it up where she can’t get to it. I don’t care about the minor issues everyone seems to write about here. Everything works so far and I will replace the batteries/recharge as needed. The sound is very clear. The temperature is pretty accurate. I do hope it lasts a long time. The batteries only last about 6hrs. We fixed this issue by plugging in a power bank (I think this one was about $9 at Walmart we already had) stays charged throughout the night. As for the extra power adapter for the chord, any power adapter you can get or currently use for cell phones works just fine. Happy with this purchase.

I am repurposing this as a cat monitor. I live in Florida. I got new high impact windows and doors for the hurricanes. My cat mostly stays on the screened patio and now I can't hear him meow to come in! I needed the baby unit to use battery since it is on the patio and the screened portion does not have an outside outlet. I did not want to run an extension cord through the screen. This one can use as of battery on BOTH the parent and baby units. There is a clip/hanger on both units, so it could easily work for elder or recuperative care. The elder or other person could be mobile with the belt clip on the baby unit with batteries installed. The parent unit has an out of range alarm, so if the care giver is semi-stationary, they would know the person in their care has gotten (wandered) to far away. Now, the units both use battery or 110 ac, but this set only comes with ONE set of rechargeable batteries. I am using 3 non-rechargeable triple A batteries for now. I don't know how that will work, so I will have to buy rechargeable ones.I haven't heard my cat meow yet, but I did hear a plane and a helicopter. Maybe I need to hang it closed to the floor of maybe he hasn't meowed yet. Only a two hour trial so far.It is a great product so far though!

Really love these baby monitors. They are super loud, super clear, and super sensitive. The parent and child pack both have the option for batteries. Both come with charging wires, but it only came with one outlet port, so I have to buy an extra (no big deal, just a bit annoying). Plays Simon and Garfunkel the Sound of Silence as one of the many songs it plays which was weird and funny at the same time. I just imagine my daughter taking in the darkness that is napping to the song. It makes me giggle regularly. I was very happy to find this is the best audio monitor I've interacted with. I got the penguin one with the temperature monitor in it, and it has been very helpful as my daughter's room changes on its own frequently. My only downside is the monitor is supposed to beep ever 30 regularly when the temp is too low or too high, but mine just beeps once. Other then that, I live them.UPDATE : After owning this thing for a couple weeks I have to say this is honestly the best baby monitor I've interacted with. This thing has great range, is Crystal clear with sound, and super sensitive. I was very skeptical about getting an audio only monitor as they tend to suck, but this thing, especially the temp being displayed, makes me feel so at ease. I like that the audio drops when there is no movement (she is asleep) but the second it heard anything it pops on. My baby doesn't cry when she wakes, mostly she talks lightly to herself, and this thing picks her up beautifully. Seriously... Get this monitor, I swear you won't regret it. I changed this from 4 stars to 5 after owning it a bit longer. It's great
