This is an easy to use radio that has an automatic emergency signal triggered if it becomes submerged. It is our second. We bought the second because we were comfortable with the first.Caution however! It appears that the manufacturer doesn't provide spare batteries. So when the battery reaches End of Life, you need to buy a new radio. If I'd realized that up front, I probably would have looked for something else.

Sadly disappointed the phone connectivity " The reason I bought this set" requires Uniden Marine App. This app does not work. So Half the features do not work. Threw it off my boat but it floated back. Worthless product support.

Many people are confused by the poor charger design. The AC or DC charger cable goes in under the base---- many folks logically are trying to plug the charger into the 8 inch cable but the cable is for an antenna cable.So for Uniden two fails--- unintuitive charger location and also the guide book is overly detailed without providing a clear set of advice/ helpful set up tips. But this appears to be a great overall radio

I purchased this for my husband to use on our boat in case of an emergency or to contact the coastguard. It was everything I hoped and wanted it to be and more. Best part is he was able to mount it by the steering wheel for quick access. I would highly recommend this product. Thank you! ☺️

The vhf radio did not work (all static) so I returned it. I had to pay for return shipping. The seller got it back but claimed they received it outside of the refund window and made zero effort on a resolution. No talk about returning the item, no talk about returning my money. They ghosted me. I felt robbed. Amazon was able to refund my money and shipping however this seller should not be on Amazon. Buyer beware.

This handheld marine VHF radio is absolutely amazing...Its the best handheld marine radio currently available in my opinion. Nothing touches it. It has all the features you could ask for, including DSC, GPS, Bluetooth, Text Over VHF, distress button, beautiful large and vivid screen, fully submersible, automatic strobe and distress feature when submerged in water, it floats, has an excellent polycarbonate resin shell that's very tough. Easy to use, and gets the job done. It's built really well too.

This radio has a Navigation function, Man Overboard function and can transmit distress messages which include your GPS position. For full functionality you will need an MMSI number. If you already have one for your boat, use that one. If you do not, you will need to get one. It’s really a lot of capability and safety features for a small handheld.

The battery on my unit has failed after 12 months. There are NO replacement batteries available. Before you buy any marine radio recommend you purchase additional batteries and steer clear of any radio that is not supported with replacement batteries

IMPORTANT: AMAZON IS CURRENTLY SHIPPING UNITS WITH INCORRECT CHARGER.This is a great radio and I will not take my Kayak on open water without it. It is feature-rich and durable.One important thing to note is that the power connection to the charging cradle is not the dongle that hangs off the side, that is for the interface cable. The charging port is hidden dead center under the charger in the cavity along the back. This is a poor design.

I really like the GPS location services and have successfully tested the radio with the Coast Guard. I wish there was a separate charging cradle option ... one charging cradle for the 110V (in the house) and a separate charging cradle for the boat (12V DC). Sell me a separate charging cradle please.
