In some cases the vent is the perfect place to mount a control head. The vent is usually within arms reach and in a good position for viewing. The Lido LM-105 vent mount works on horizontal or vertically polarized vents. The LM-105 Vent mount with adjustable hook. The mount has a secure hook that is controlled with a tightening ring to get it as tight as needed to secure your device.. This is the second product from this company and both are quality items. The mount hookedright up to my FTM-300-DR as described. The mount then easily attaches to the vent slat andyou're in business. It doesn't work on all cars, wouldn't work on our Highlander but great on theVenza.

When using my FTM-400, I can't orient the quick release plate in any direction that will allow me to get my fingers in to hit the release switch so that leaves taking the whole contraption off of the vent or unscrewing the compression ring holding the ball mount and removing that way. Yes, it fits the vent very well and it very sturdy, but I am giving it a 3 out of 5 because I have the old version in two of my other cars and they are a much better quick release design... simple switch across the top back. Bring back the old version and I will swap you this one back for more stars.

Versus the other FTM-400 mounts on the market, this is the one I went with. Works great and hasn't needed tightening in over a month.

I had my FTM-400 on a cup holder mount but this is simply better. So far the clamp seems secure and the head mount is out of the way.
