You need to ve perfectly still, and the watch face has to be perfectly level in order for the compass to be accurate. However, it is really inexpensive.I use this Compass recreationally, and in my opinion, one should only use it as such.You want accurate heading to navigate while at sea or at the jungle, buy a real compass.
