About this item

  • Luffa is a short-day crop. The short-day and high temperature during the whole growth period are beneficial to flowering, young melon development and increased yield.
  • All our products are high-quality products with high germination rate after screening and testing.
  • Loofah is temperature-loving and heat-resistant, and the suitable temperature for growth is 20-30°C.
  • Loofah loves humidity, fears drought, and grows well when the soil moisture is high and the water content is above 70%.
  • We are committed to the best product quality and after-sales service. You can directly contact me for any questions about the product, and I will give you a satisfactory answer.

Product package:50PCS loofah seeds/pack
Luffa nursery:
1. Seed soaking: Expose the seeds for 2 to 3 days before soaking, and then soak them in warm water at 60-70°C for 10 to 15 minutes, and then soak the seeds for 4-6 hours when the water temperature drops to 30°C.
2. Germination: After soaking the seeds, remove them and place them at 28?30? for germination. Rinse them with clean water 1 to 2 times a day. The seeds can be sown after they are white.
3. Sowing: using direct seeding method, sown 2 to 3 seeds per hole with a depth of 1 to 2 cm. The seeds should be laid flat, and 75% of the soil field water holding capacity is appropriate. If it is too dry, water a little, and cover the hay after sowing. Keep warm and moisturize.
4. Seedling management: After the seedlings emerge from the soil, the temperature should be properly cooled. If the water is insufficient in the seedling stage, water or spray water should be appropriate. When the seedling grows 2 to 3 true leaves, it can be planted.
Loofah cultivation:
1. Land selection: It is advisable to choose sandy soil with deep soil layer, fertile soil, convenient irrigation and drainage, and neutral pH value.
3. Construction of melon shed: bamboo or cement poles can be used to make pile heads. The height of the shed is about 2 meters. The roof of the shed is tied into a square with small nylon ropes. It must be able to withstand the weight of loofah and heavy storms.
5. Flower preservation and fruit preservation: some female flowers should be omitted in cultivation, and the deformities should be removed in time. Artificial auxiliary pollination can be used to increase the fruit setting rate.
6. Timely harvest: Loofah has strong continuous fruiting and fast fruit growth. Use tools to cut the fruit from the stalk. It is not advisable to pick it by hand to avoid breaking the branches.

I put them between wet paper towels and then in a zip lock bag in a dark drawer for 10 days and they all germinate. Growing prolifically in my garden. However, they are not the Chinese loofah ( which has ridges on the plant ) that was shown in the picture which is disappointing. Unlike the Chinese loofah, they are not edible when they grow big. I will try to make loofah sponge with them.
