These are great low power amplifiers based on a proven chip.They come set for 200x gain. To reduce the gain to 20x cut the link between pin 1 and the capacitor connected to pin 8. The 3.5mm jack takes the audio from the center ring of the plug (stereo). To switch it to using the tip connection of the plug (mono) cut the connections and solder a wire as shown in the picture.
