The pad looks n feels good, however after using i found the velcro allows the sanding disc to move on the pad exposing edges of the pad to the parts being sanded.

While a backing plate for a DA sander or polisher seems like a simple item, this item shines in many areas.This type of item is something I want to grab from the tool box and use without a second thought.I have used it several times per week over the last month or so at work for an average of one hour's time each use.I ordered a second for another tool because I am satisfied with this first one.For one, the plate is sturdy and retains its shape. This has served me well for sandpaper as well as paint polishing pads. The hook and loop material is of very good quality and is still adhering to the plate without issues. This is more than I can say for some brands. Also, this is a firm pad though it is slightly flexible.This is not a good or a bad thing: it is preference for the type of sanding or polishing you intend to do.It appears similar to my 3M plates but at a much lower cost.If this TCP Global plate is as sturdy as the ones for my rotary polisher that I have used for over 18 months then I will consider it a great bargain.At this point I see no reason to hesitate buying another if I need one.
