This is a review of the APONUO Solar Post Cap Lights solar post cap lights. It's a set of six.**Build Quality:** these are definitely more on the budget side. The white plastic has almost a matte finish to it. The unit consists of a base which there are two primary sizes and a removable inner sleeve to go up half size this space then attaches to the reflective lens via four prongs that twist clamp the lens then on top of the lens is the actual light cap and solar panel, and that also attaches via four prongs that you twist lock into place. The LEDs are actually strip light LEDs wrapped around there are eight sets of two LEDs on a cool light and a warm light. There's a toggle switch on the inside of the cap next to the battery lid. These are powered by rechargeable AA NiMH nickel metal hydride batteries. A capacity of 600 mAh is printed on the side of the batteries I actual ran four these on a battery capacity tester and the measured 751, 724, 774 and 791 mAh of capacity. this is impressive you never see batteries measuring higher capacity than it's printed on them. However I still think there is more potential , because these batteries are removable you can easily upgrade them, which in some cases may make sense. If you live in an area where you have multiple cloudy days in a row having extra capacity to get you through multiple nights may be a benefit. Amazon basics those 2000 mA hour batteries for less than $1.60 per battery. And you'll be getting three times to capacity. And if you're to believe the brochure of this light, the solar panels can charge 200 mA hours per hour indirect sunlight. So that means with only 3-4 hours of sunlight, you've maxed out the capacity of those included batteries.** Function** so these operate by turning on when the sensor on the top note, it's dark enough. Like I stated above the LEDs are actually little strip lights. They are not super powerful. They're more of an accent kind of thing I wouldn't count on them lighting up a stairway or a walkway, but they add a nice decorative accent. I got more than 12 hours of battery life from the LEDs. I put them in a room and put them up upside down so they stayed on. Well past 12 hours. There are two kinds of lights. It's either a warm light or a cool light. There's a toggle switch on the bottom you can go from white to cool or off.**Conclusions:** I think these lights are an amazing value. It's less than eight dollars per light. Are they the nicest looking lights, no. Are they the brightest lights, No. But they functional easy to assemble and easy to maintain. They last the whole night and they are serviceable (replaceable battery). So at less than eight dollar per light I think this is a great deal. My only caveat is if you're looking something to really light up a space or light up steps or a walkway you might want something brighter but if you're just looking for an accent, then these are a great value minded option

the 6x6 plate (actually 5.5x5.5 is too small my post that measures 5.5x5.5 does not fit into it, I had to rest it on top and screw it in which does not make the light as secure as it should be. Also there were not enough screws and because the plate didn't fit the post the screws were actually too short.! SMH.. Rich SC

I mounted four of these lights on my deck and three out of four of them seem to be lighting up. The fourth one is somewhat under a gutter, but there are other solar lights near it that seem to make do with the available light. That said, these are easy to install and look rather nice. A solid four star recommendation.

These are excellent post lights. They are not heavy, however, so they must be fastened or high winds will catch them. If they turn upside down, water will get into them as they were not designed to be mounted that way. They come with adapters to fit a wide-enough range of fenceposts, and a note inside the box indicates that they can provide additional sizes should they be required. I have not contacted them since they mount easily on my 4-by-4 posts. They charge well here in the southeastern U.S. sunshine and last long enough to provide decoration while it is dark and most people are awake. Their battery reserve is adequate unless you want bright light past 5AM or so (they stay on for about 10 hours of darkness). In the summer, they will last the whole night. Even on the darkest days, they typically gather enough charge to make it past midnight. Up north (e.g. upper midwest), the sun is surprisingly less intense, so I can't say whether these figures apply up there. They do handle a variety of weather, but I would probably cover them if we were expecting heavy snow enough to bury them, as the water has a way of getting into things, especially if they are surrounded by it. Very heavy rain (over an inch per hour) is not a problem as long as the drainage is adequate, which I expect to be so for their fencepost mounting. Price is affordable and appropriate for these attractive lights.
